From our first version to project Bahubhalli to our waving flag, HROne Inbox!

FLASHBACK!

The first version of our product was launched way back in 2016! At that time, the need of the hour was simple. The organizations were looking to organize and digitize their employee information, standardize attendance processes and prepare an error-free-compliant payroll for 10,000+ employees in an hour!?

As we rolled out a robust solution to that, at HROne the focus has been to keep #employees at the center stage of all our solutions. We identified that there was a dearth need for a solution that brings transparency and visibility to employees! Millions of blue-collar workforce struggled to comprehend their pay structures, and overtime calculations, or have clear access to their appointment letters, contract letters, or organization’s policy! For that, way back in time, HROne was the first solution to launch a complete ESS on mobile apps with the employee having easy and real-time access to all the information he needed! Over time and versions of the product, we at HROne have carried the DNA of being a mobile-first product. Today we have 200+ processes for Employees, Managers, HRs, Admin, and CXOs on the go!

As we onboarded our first 100 customers, we learned a lot about the needs of large enterprises and refined our platform vision with your requests. This meant for example configuring your own fully functioning HR Tech platform and a wide set of comprehensive admin features which made the platform feel more mature. Early in our journey we realized, that strong core engines and flexibility will be the two key pillars that will drive the success of the platform and in turn, enable our customers to design and leverage the HR processes as per their business needs!

I guess it was only a matter of time before when we had rolled out deep solutions to digitize all your HR processes from Talent Acquisition to Talent Management to Performance management, Expenses Management, Asset Management, and whatnot!?

Having built a complete gamut of products that covered the entire spectrum of HR functions, I think it was around the summer of 2017 that we were sitting in a room, brainstorming to rework our brand, do a country-wide mega launch, and go all guns blazing in the market! It was the most logical thing to do! But as we doing this, there was some discontent at the back of my mind.?

We felt we had only solved half of the problem. It was all the more troublesome as we tried to study all the other leading solution providers, both in the Indian market and globally; And we realized. We all said we are “automating” HR functions! I started wondering “Are we? Are we really doing that? I acknowledged, over the last many years, that in the name of hr automation, all we have been able to achieve was the digitization of hr transactions! Things were happening the same old way as they used to happen in the paper and pen era! We had simply mimicked these processes digitally. All of these processes were at mercy of HRs to initiate, track and ensure these things were happening. Other than storing the information digitally and getting access to this information to end employees, there was no real problem other than what we had solved that actually transformed these hr processes that will lead to redefining employee experiences.?

Trust me, this small tickling actually started disturbing us all in different ways! The product we had built with all the passion, love, and energy that started looking has more than a flaw. The complete ideology behind these systems came into question. There was no patchwork that could really solve the problem.?

As we were battling the internal demons, the world of data analytics had started shaping up and we thought we really did not have real-time data to drive any valuable insights. The essence of a transaction is lost the moment it is not captured in “the moment”! We realized that the complete tech solutions were not leveraged to unleash the power of this then-evolving tech that was about to change the way we perceive things!

And then, we had this #Bahubhalli moment where we took the leap to build an all-new product today called HROne Inbox, the world's first #InboxforHR! The vision of HROne Inbox was simple:

  • We wanted a product that truly automates #HR processes and not just digitizes. We wanted to democratize the HR tasks from HR to managers to employees and ideally everything on the system! That was the only way to ensure things happen on time- every time!?
  • We wanted a product that had 0 learning curve. We wanted it to be as simple as an email. We wanted to provide state of an art user experience. We were inspired by Paytm, Swiggy, and Instagram. We understood that you can't force the users to use an app. They have to be in love with the ease to do things for us to be able to capture real-time data!
  • We wanted to offer a platform that designed state of an art employee experience. That helps capture the pulse of the organization, captures the mood of employees, brews engagement, connections, and interactions, fosters relationships, and in turn enables connected workplaces! This one may be was slightly far stretched at that point in time, but I am glad we did this and pretty much aced it!

This pretty much became our waving flag during the disruptive time of 2020-21! And as they say, the rest is history!
