From Then to Now

27 years ago on December 31st, 1992, I said yes to my beautiful bride, Leilani! When we got married, we had a set of dishes and a microwave to our name. We lived in student married housing and we rode a bus or our bikes to work.

Since then, we have had four world-changing children, two sons-in-love, one cat, and two dogs. We have lived in 4 states, 11 different apartments or homes, and been on missions trips together in multiple cities, states, and countries. Together we have visited 25 states and 38 countries traveling the world experiencing life together. I would also like to say, we now have a little more than a set of dishes and a microwave to our name! Lol

We have and have always had a strong marriage and have never had a moment where we have not wanted to be together. We’ve done this by loving each other unconditionally, making sure we cover each other's weaknesses, and enhance each other's strengths. We’ve had things happen in our lives that have shaken us to the core as well as triumphs to shout about.

Most importantly, we have Jesus at the center of our lives and children that do as well. Life is not easy and it takes an enormous amount of hard work, faithfulness, obedience, and unconditional love to thrive in all that we set our eyes on.

I say this all on my LinkedIn because I see so many people sacrifice relationships for “success.” Nothing is more important than our relationships with others. My relationship focus starts with God first, wife (spouse), children, friends and relatives, and finally the people that are put in front of me each day. Chasing money never gives you anything with substance and never lasts. We started with very little and through years of hard work, dedication, sacrifice, and perseverance, we now are blessed beyond all that we could imagine.

Keep pressing forward, don’t give up, focus on what matters and things will fall into place. Relationships are the key to success and true fulfillment.
