At the base and acting as the main ingredient is our Miros Wavesystem. A dry mounted vessel solution which in real-time measures wave and current conditions with incredible accuracy.

It has a dual-measurement principle as seen below and built-in integrated MRUs which means it provides not only a live assessment of the forces acting upon the vessel, but also the vessels reactions to such.

Pair such with advanced algorithms and Artificial Intelligence and we are now able to provide both accurate wave and vessel motion forecast up to two minutes into the future.

Despite the complexity in the product itself, part of the beauty of it is its simplicity. It's a simple remote software add-on to an the already existing WaveSystem onboard a vessel. It does not require expensive and time consuming calibration, modeling nor a digital twin.

Statistical prediction vs Deterministic prediction

Two completely different animals this. One is based on statistical information which will struggle with resolution period and which will not detect individual waves or sequences of waves in detail. Freak wave prediction, yes indeed.

By providing short term deterministic wave and vessel motion prediction the system is able to find gaps in weather windows which are outside operational limits or stop an operation due to safety concerns despite the fact that one is well within the set weather limits.
