From My Humble Experience!

Our business market has new comers with great new ideas and potential growth for existing ideas that we have never seen before. Relationships between business oriented professionals and their targeted prospects are built accordingly to establish and maintain this never-ending ecosystem.  However, in some occasions we lose sight of what is important to be emphasized and what ability to have in order to keep up. I have seen and experienced such encounters in the past and now I am keen to reflect the lessons learned.

With that in mind, I have listed 15 Great Abilities that I advise every business oriented professional, to acquire, prior to enter or within this great ecosystem:

1- Time Management; your time is limited, and so is your prospects, every activity has to matter to achieve your list of Objectives .

2- Passion, is your fuel; without it you won’t have the right conversation to reach Confidence.

3- Adaptability; your company and business, changes, together with the market, industry, country and the world around it, change is good, so embrace it.

4- Empathy; Put yourself in your prospects perspective, it’s not always about you, consider others needs and understand it, to establish Trust.

5- Active Listening & Documentation; listen carefully and absorb your prospects points and confirm it on spot, not to forget it, your prospects doesn’t like repeating themselves as they are not always free.

6- Collaboration; never be solo, you need your business partners as they are there to help you as great Success is the Fruit of great Teamwork.

7- Responsibility; without ownership, Results can’t be achieved, always take an initiative if needed.

8- Social Selling; people buy from people, keep spreading your reach of relationships and keep bridges always built and maintained, as the world is smaller place these days.

9- Data is Key; always be prepared with relevant Data; at the right time at the right place to the right prospect, research your industry around you, the tools are there, just look carefully and spend a quality time, this will always grant you your prospects undivided attention and your ticket to your prospects circle of Trust.

10- Focus; Eyes on your Mission, keep reminding yourself why you are on your mission to achieve Clarity of Vision and avoid unnecessary distractions.

11- Identify your targets; Your effort has to be divided to achieve multiple great results to land and expand and spread your Success with an Echo.

12- Prioritization; you need to qualify what’s important now, near future and furthermore.

13- Know your Strengths; Get A Head start by looking closely for your “A Game” grow them and acquire more skills along your path, your potential has no limit and always be updated about what’s going on to stay relevant.

14- Seek Help; sometimes is tough for you, so be Humble and acknowledge your weaknesses, you might need more skills or another opinion, keep learning and take an advice from someone who saw the end of the road before you, this how you great experiences gets made.

15- Negotiating and Closing, when you reach end of the cycle, just bring it home with all your ammunition in place with persistence and know that your prospects are smart as well so be realistic and always have a strategy.

Finally, it is OK if it didn’t work once, just remember to keep on trying and always be ready for the next challenge!
