From the Mouths of Billionaires - Six Words That Changed My Life
Vince Salvo
I build, grow, and lead ambitious AI-adaptive people and companies to improve lives.
About 10 years ago,? the nicest multi-billionaire I’ve met said something I’ve never forgotten.
It started on a hot summer day on the outskirts of Austin, Texas. I was lucky enough to get a behind-the-scenes view of the production of a music documentary and tribute. The tribute was for a great guitarist who had died of cancer.? In parallel, the film highlighted how Austin became the world's music capital.
Several investors supported the documentary as did a star-studded cast of music icons.
One day, after shooting a scene, everyone broke for lunch.
As lunch wound down, and as everyone started setting up for the next scene, a seasoned entrepreneur approached a likable Austin billionaire and started pitching a new business idea he was pursuing with hopes of garnering some interest.
I watched as the business mogul listened as the entrepreneur pitched feverishly. After the pitch ended, he thanked the entrepreneur and politely called attention to starting the next scene.
When the entrepreneur was no longer in earshot, I heard something I didn’t expect.? The business magnate turned to his friend and said, “Don’t people know that the last thing I need is more money? What I need is more time.”
It hit hard.
I was going through both business and health challenges at the time.? Little did I know that these two sentences would completely change my life.
Imagine a world where we dedicate ourselves to transforming our businesses, chasing valuations, and accumulating wealth, only to realize that we have neglected two of our most precious assets — health and time.
As CEOs, founders, entrepreneurs, executives, and investors, we tirelessly strive for success, often at the expense of our well-being. It's a dangerous game we play and one that I, too, found myself entangled in.
?
For over 20 years, I immersed myself in the intricate web of the US healthcare system. Passionate about driving?change, I poured my heart and time into optimizing care, technology, experience, access, value, and the lives of others. But amidst the?chaos and demands of the industry, I forgot to take care of myself.
?
I thought I was invincible.
Then, the universe sent me a chilling wake-up call.
?
The results of my long-overdue blood work revealed a shocking truth. My biomarkers were trending in the wrong direction.? My heart sank as I stared at the numbers. Cholesterol levels were soaring, inflammatory markers were peaking, and the impending threat of Type 2 diabetes was looming over me.
How did it come to this? What had I done to myself and my family's future?
?
Prescription drugs were a temporary solution, but I knew deep down that true transformation could only come from within. Determined to regain control of my life, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, diving headfirst into longevity research. It was a daunting task, but I refused to accept the path laid out before me.
Through relentless experimentation, I developed a simplified, data-driven system to bio-hack my way back to optimal health. Within months, the unimaginable happened. My biomarkers returned to a normal range, and I shed the excess weight and thwarted any chance of diabetes. A newfound vitality surged through my veins, eradicating joint pain, bloating, and brain fog. I slept restfully, my wrinkles softened, and my stress receded.??
?
I became "Zen AF?" and?reduced my biological age by 15 years.
?
The ripple effect of my transformation was palpable. My peers noticed the change and wanted the same experience. I shared the secrets of my decade-long journey, witnessing firsthand the impact on fellow CEOs, entrepreneurs, founders, executives, friends, and family.
?
My multifaceted purpose has transformed. I’m committed to helping people reshape their health and longevity trajectories. I’m determined to bridge the gap and marginalize the conflicts between sick care and prevention, wellness, and longevity so they work together. ? Through proven collaborative work, I’m helping to empower longer and healthier lives with intelligence, ultra-personalization, and simplicity, to achieve previously elusive change and results.
Gone are the days of fixating solely on valuations and exits. I’d rather play a part in designing systems that guide those interested in disease prevention, reversing or delaying aging, and avoiding unnecessary medical treatments.
I'm sharing what I’ve learned and continue to learn, including the insights, mistakes, struggles, failures, and successes?over 10+ years that have enabled me to live, look, feel, work, and play with 100x more vibrancy.? And with the potential of AI — I’m on a quest to 1000x the speed of results for people.

Regardless of financials, business success, or social status — whether multi-millionaire, billionaire, CEO, founder, solopreneur, business owner, teacher, or plumber—at some point, you will realize the need and importance of the two assets you may have likely ignored — health and time.

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, said:
“Man. Because he sacrifices his health to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.”
It’s human nature to want more.
It’s human nature to want what you’ve lost.
A 20 or 35-year-old doesn't think of their health or time.
At 40+,? health and well-being get increasing attention.? Little action occurs because of denial and resistance to necessary lifestyle changes.
At 50+, health and time, become top of mind.? People see their parents aging and start visualizing their future selves.
We’re not here for long.? Spending half of our lives ignoring health and time is tragic.
Here’s the thing — gaining healthy time is simple.
You don’t have to become a bio-hacker.
You don’t have to make drastic changes in behavior.
Instead, start simple.? Search for people and solutions that provide ultra-personalized, systems and methods that help you change behavior and produce consistent results in subtle ways.
Start thinking of your health like making a financial investment that compounds over time.
Small consistent actions and changes will yield dramatic lifetime results.? Your actions and behaviors become automatic and ingrained. You won’t need to think much.
My advice for any fear you might have.? Start.
Frame the changes you want to make as an experiment.? You can’t fail if you view everything as an experiment.
??
You could live a couple of extra decades with advancements in longevity science and AI.
Imagine yourself at 102 years old.? People say you look and act like you're 60.? You’re grateful for how much extra time you get to see family and friends.? You’re traveling the world.? Your work and purpose bring you immense joy.? You’re young-minded, full of energy, healthy, and happy.
What could be of greater value and return?
Let’s make living 100 healthy years a reality for everyone.
