Stepping into the esteemed halls of Tata Motors' Engineering Research Center (ERC) in Pimpri, Pune, I knew I was embarking on a journey unlike any other. My mission is to mentor TMPV and TTL engineers on the fascinating frontiers of Machine Learning and AI. Little did I anticipate the profound impact this experience would have, not just on them but on myself as well.
The ERC buzzed with the energy of research, development, and relentless testing. Data, in its glorious abundance, formed the lifeblood of every project. But what truly impressed me was the shift in perspective. Engineers who once saw problems through traditional lenses were now donning the visionary glasses of ML & AI. They craved the power of algorithms, the magic of neural networks, the potential to revolutionize the automotive landscape.
It was in this vibrant milieu that I was entrusted with the opportunity to mentor this eager team. Five days packed with 9-5 pm back-to-back sessions became a crucible of intense learning. Dr. Shohaib Iqbal sir and his team set the benchmark with their incisive questions, unwavering domain knowledge, and infectious passion to connect concepts to real-world challenges.
Our days were a relentless pursuit of knowledge. We delved into the intricacies of concepts, wrestled with Python code, and tackled problems under the ever-present pressure of time. Witnessing participants grapple with complex code, some even writing their first lines in years, was the most rewarding feedback I could ever receive. It spoke volumes about their dedication and their hunger to push boundaries and embrace the new.

The place was like a safety wonderland! Cars crawled at 20 kmph, phones stayed in pockets while walking, and zebras ruled the crossings. I, of course, managed to break two out of three and got a friendly heads-up from a hawk-eyed guard with siti bazana . Talk about being on top of things!
The final day solidified the transformation. Witnessing the team translate theory into practice, deploy models, and troubleshoot errors head-on with a fighter's spirit, filled me with immense pride. They weren't just building algorithms; they were building confidence, competence, and a vision for a future powered by AI.
My journey at the ERC wasn't just about imparting knowledge; it was about witnessing its transformative power. I saw seasoned engineers rekindle their love for learning, I saw skepticism morph into fascination, and I saw a team united by a shared passion for AI and its potential to revolutionize the way we move. And in that, I found the most gratifying reward of all: the privilege of playing a small role in igniting the spark of innovation within a team driven to shape the future of Tata Motors.
At last would like to acknowledge Intellipat (Hydrabad) , special thanks to DR Iqbal sir, Monali and Team, Pratik,Tarun from Intellipat , who worked seemlessly to make this program happen successfully.
