From 'Me' to 'We': The Art Of Navigating a Self-Centered World and Becoming a Better Person

Hellooooooooo my dear friends, it’s another year In a world where mindless self-promotion reigns supreme and social media algorithms prioritize the projection of individual greatness, it's so easy to fall into the trap of thinking that life is all about "me, myself, and I." But as we've all come to realize, this narrow-minded and self-centered approach to life often leaves us feeling unfulfilled and very unhappy.

As we wander the streets of 2023, we're bombarded by a never-ending stream of people preoccupied with capturing the perfect selfie, a spectacle that feels like a satirical skit straight out of "Saturday Night Live." This is not just in NYC, LA or MIAMI this is EVERYWHERE. Sadly this is a far cry from the days of unwavering loyalty and community, where people worked together to lift each other up and ensure that EVERYONE was thriving, NOT just themselves.

But when will it finally be time to break free from this cycle of a gross mentality of greed and self-interest? I believe the time is now, as in this very second that you’re reading these words. Being a better person isn't about being perfect (since perfection is an illusion), but about being aware of ourselves and our surroundings and making a conscious effort to help others and make a positive impact on the world.

For me, the act of giving is one of my greatest pleasures in life. But I'm often taken aback by the number of people who purposely choose NOT to help others, as if doing so would somehow diminish their own worth. I don’t win unless WE ALL WIN. This needs to be the foundation of the mindset for you, your family, your friends, your community and your relationship to the world at large. We are all connected on levels that are so deep that our brains still can’t fully comprehend yet, at least not until we've elevate our consciousness.

However, giving is like planting a seed. When we give, we must let go, allowing the universe to do what it does best - creating balance. By giving all we can and expecting nothing in return, we find true freedom and joy. We don't even need a thank you. That's the key to a life filled with purpose and happiness.

Here's 23 random acts of kindness YOU can do TODAY:

  1. Smile at someone and make their day brighter.
  2. Offer a helping hand to someone in need.
  3. Offer to pay for someone's coffee behind you in line at the cafe.
  4. Buy a meal or bring your leftovers to a homeless person (include utensils, napkins and a beverage...NO ALCOHOL)
  5. Write a thank you note on the receipt of a great service provider.
  6. Do a household chore for someone without being asked.
