From Managing to Heading Business Development: How Trust Defines Success at Amplus Solar

Shantanu Mishra’s journey at Amplus—from starting as Manager to becoming the Head of Business Development—embodies this philosophy. Building a Foundation of Trust

Joining Amplus marked a shift for me from working in a large, process-driven organization to a startup environment—Amplus was just 2-3 years old at the time. The leadership trusted me with meaningful responsibilities right from the start, demonstrating their commitment to fostering autonomy rather than micromanaging. One of my first major assignments was handling Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with SECI in Jammu and Kashmir, securing a 1 MW project. Shortly after, I managed our first railway project in Nishatpura. These experiences taught me the value of responsibility and provided the foundation for building Amplus's niche in the C&I sector.

At Amplus, it’s clear that leadership is as invested in employee growth as in the company’s success—a commitment that has remained constant throughout my journey here.

This environment has allowed me to take ownership and build resilience, which has shaped me into the leader I am today.

A perfect example of this culture is the Amplus Premier League, a cricket tournament we started with full leadership support. What began as a fun idea quickly grew into an annual event, fostering camaraderie across the company. This initiative demonstrates Amplus’s openness to employee-driven projects and its commitment to creating a cohesive and empowering work environment.

Amplus’s internal culture of trust extends naturally to client relationships. Today, when I meet clients, they recognize that I represent Amplus’s values of transparency and commitment, rooted in the trust Amplus leadership places in its employees.
