From the inside to the outside

Since a long time I have been pondering what is happening in the world right now. The world is on fire and I don’t mean in the literal sense of the word. More in the sense that we are not in tune anymore with what is going on in our backyard and our own bodies. Poverty, loneliness, obesity, power hungry politicians, a deeply polarised society and last but not least an inflated economy that is just waiting to burst. All signs of the seven sins. We have lost control of a machine that used to be within arms length reach and sadly it is gaining momentum, settling debts we didn’t even know about.?

Last monday I attended a seminar “Reversed Leadership” at the Concious Academy. The event was hosted by Joris Swinkels and Sacha Steuns in their lovely church in Rosmalen (the Netherlands). During that seminar they ground you and let you realise where you are at this moment. Grasping the main principles that are at work right now in the world and meeting like minded people that want to reshape the world as we know it. For me it was a clear sign I have to manifest all the learnings I have gathered the last year. Realising that the capitalistic society in which we are living in is not the only way to heaven.?

For now I am using an old mantra, I once wrote in one of my journals; from the inside to the outside. A realisation that I can only be a power in the world, once I am my authentic self. No bullshit. Realising my ideals instead of trying to keep up with the Jones’. Scary, because I have to abandon old structures and track new wobbly paths to higher grounds. Higher grounds that can be found in the seven virtues; chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, kindness, patience and humility. Most of them are examples of a gift economy. An economy that has a deeper understanding of what people really need. Now is the time to choose what kind of society we want to live in. #bekinder
