I remember feeling stuck not knowing how to turn my startup idea into a reality. Starting Cactus International was a journey filled with challenges, fears, and ultimately triumphs.
In this entrepreneurship talk, moderated by Estefania Garcia Zapata and organized by #Harvard Extension Alumni Association #LATAM, Professor Mike Grandinetti and I shared actionable steps that aspiring entrepreneurs can follow to turn their ideas into successful ventures.
Below are some practical insights from my entrepreneurial journey launching Cactus Int. in 2013 and a decade of teaching, training, and consulting hundreds of startups and innovative companies:
1?? Find Inspiration for Ideation: Inspiration can come from various sources. Whether it's identifying pressing problems to solve, filling gaps in existing solutions, or capitalizing on emerging trends. For me, it was the desire for women in the Middle East to be part of the workforce by becoming entrepreneurs and leaders that sparked the idea for Cactus International.
2?? Assess Your Idea(s): Assess the business opportunity before pursuing your idea, ensuring its appeal to the intended target audience, feasibility in terms of your ability, resources, and capabilities, to create value in the market, and viability in terms of successfully commercializing and capitalizing on the generated value.
