From Hustler to King: The Journey of a Financial Advisor
Daniel Hanzelka
I help Financial and Insurance Advisors earn more in a single sale than the average agent makes in a year. While other programs help their clients have 6 figure years. We help our clients have SIX FIGURE DAYS.
As Christian Financial Advisors, we often find ourselves balancing multiple roles: spouse, parent, entrepreneur, and leader. In this article, I want to share insights from the Reset Warriors Journey, focusing on the journey from hustler to king. This journey is not just about professional growth but also about personal evolution, aligning our business practices with our faith and values.
The Hustler Phase: Power and Persistence
The first phase in our journey is the Hustler phase. As hustlers, we are driven by a relentless desire to make things happen. We work tirelessly to generate income and establish our businesses. However, this phase is fraught with challenges. We often find ourselves lacking sustainable systems and relying on sheer willpower to get through the day. This can lead to burnout, fatigue, and even a sense of isolation.
In the Hustler phase, the key issue is not knowing what to do but being too fatigued or distracted to do it. We might resort to stimulants or unhealthy habits to maintain our energy levels, but these are not sustainable solutions. What we need is a predictable system for generating power from within, rooted in our faith and daily practices. This involves prayer, reflection, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
The Entrepreneurial Phase: Growing and Leading
Once we've established a foundation as hustlers, we move into the Entrepreneurial phase. Here, the focus shifts from making money to growing money. This requires building and leading a team, which presents its own set of challenges. Many of us struggle with hiring, managing, and leading people effectively. The more people we add to our team, the more chaotic things can become if we don't have solid processes in place.
In this phase, it's crucial to develop the mindset and skillsets needed to build predictable processes for advertising, marketing, sales, fulfillment, team management, and technology. As Christian leaders, we must lead with integrity, patience, and a servant's heart, ensuring that our business practices align with our values and the teachings of Christ.
The CFO Phase: Managing Profits and Finances
The next phase is the CFO phase, where the focus is on keeping money and ensuring profitability. This phase is about mastering the financial aspects of our business. We need to develop the skills to track and account for our finances accurately, manage taxes, and maximize profits. Many financial advisors struggle to maintain profitability despite increasing revenues due to a lack of financial discipline and strategic planning.
As Christian advisors, we must remember the biblical principles of stewardship and accountability. We are called to manage our resources wisely, avoiding unnecessary debt and ensuring that our financial practices honor God. This includes being transparent in our dealings and generous in our giving.
The CEO Phase: Protecting and Leveraging Wealth
In the CEO phase, we focus on protecting and leveraging the wealth we've built. This involves making strategic investments, protecting our assets, and planning for the future. However, many of us fall into the trap of making poor investment decisions due to a lack of understanding or seeking quick fixes. This phase requires a strategic plan that unifies our business and personal financial goals, ensuring that we are protected against market fluctuations and legal challenges.
As leaders, we must seek God's wisdom in our decision-making processes, ensuring that our investments and business strategies are in line with His will. We must also cultivate a heart of generosity, using our wealth to bless others and advance God's kingdom.
The Founder Phase: Purpose and Legacy
The Founder phase is about purpose and legacy. It's not just about making more money but finding deeper meaning in our work. Many successful business owners reach a point where they feel hollow and unfulfilled despite their achievements. This is a critical juncture where we must reconnect with our purpose and align our business practices with our calling.
As Christian advisors, our ultimate purpose goes beyond profit. We are called to glorify God in all we do, to serve others, and to leave a lasting legacy that reflects our faith. This involves mentoring the next generation, investing in our communities, and using our platforms to spread the gospel.
The King Phase: Comprehensive Wealth and Influence
Finally, the King phase is about achieving comprehensive wealth and influence. This means integrating our success across all areas of life: body, being, balance, and business. We must strive for excellence not only in our professional endeavors but also in our personal lives, ensuring that our marriages, families, and spiritual lives are thriving.
In this phase, the greatest challenge is maintaining this balance. We must guard against the pressures and stresses that come with success, ensuring that we do not neglect our spiritual and family commitments. It is vital to surround ourselves with a supportive community of like-minded individuals who can hold us accountable and encourage us to keep our priorities in check.
Embracing the Journey
The journey from hustler to king is not easy, but it is a worthy pursuit. As Christian advisors, we have a unique opportunity to lead by example, integrating our faith with our business practices. By embracing each phase of this journey, we can build successful businesses that honor God, serve others, and create a lasting legacy.
I invite you to reflect on your own journey and identify which phase you are currently in. What steps can you take to move forward? How can you align your business practices with your faith and values?
Join the conversation, seek out mentorship, and commit to continuous growth. Together, we can navigate the challenges and celebrate the victories on the path to becoming kings in our businesses and lives.
