From Hilarious IRL Shenanigans To Thriving Secrets In Nature!????Don't Miss Out On The Epic Action!! ????
Welcome!
August is an interesting month, isn’t it? For the lucky ones, it’s a time to rest and reboot as we soak up the Vitamin D. For others, it marks a manic juggle of childcare, work and preparation for the new school year.
We’ve experienced a bit of both this month, so it was a complete joy to have some unbridled fun when our small team got together IRL for laughs and stories aplenty! As Rebecca says, it really was the embodiment of psychological safety ??and I certainly returned home - tired and happy - with an increased appreciation for the amazing people I work with and our mission to support the #FutureOfTeams.
Another highlight of the week was hearing WorkTripp co-founder Sophie in conversation with the ever-inspiring Andy Middleton. They talked about what it means to ‘thrive’ and how to achieve that through deeper connection to the natural world - particularly in the context of our work. Want to find out more about The Nature of Thriving? Check out the recording and register your interest in our new collaboration with The TYF Group.
September marks a super busy month, as we welcome lots of teams to get together and share meaningful experiences. Big thanks to our amazing community - with particular shout-outs to? Elmley, CHX and Nini - for making both teams and organisers feel so supported ??
Until next time, get outside and enjoy those rays ??

What
Don't forget to walk the talk when you say your company is inclusive! ?
Check out these 5 important considerations to make sure EVERYONE can feel like they belong:
??Accommodate Diversity
Create an inclusive retreat by incorporating activities that are sensitive to different cultures, abilities, and beliefs. Be mindful of each participant's needs and restrictions. Is there a ramp? Is there a place that can be used for prayer? Is there enough time in the itinerary to calm down? Things like that.
?? Range of Activities
Design a retreat agenda that includes a wide range of activities to cater to different interests and preferences. Whether it's a workout, workshops, or creative sessions, make sure there's something for everyone to choose to participate in (where they want to) and enjoy without the overwhelm or pressure.
??Accessibility for All
Ensure that the venue is disability friendly and neurodivergent-friendly.
Offer alternative formats for materials and presentations that will allow different ways to access them. People that can't make it? Make sure you have something planned for them too. VR for soft skills, home delivery etc
?? Neuro-Considerate
Design team offsites activities that cater to different preferences and abilities. Include options that are both physically and mentally engaging, allowing individuals to participate based on their comfort levels.
?? Food Options
Cater to various dietary preferences and restrictions by offering a wide selection of food options during the retreat. Consider plant-based, gluten-free, alcohol-free, kosher, halal and other special dietary requirements to ensure everyone can enjoy delicious meals together.

While you’re in the mood to iterate and experiment, here are some things worth checking out:
A great Forbes article by Cara Brennan Allamano, in conversation with Q Hamirani - CPO at Paper, creator of the Live & Work Anywhere programme at Airbnb, and WorkTripp advisor!
??episode: Curiosity, creativity & AI | Eat Sleep Work Repeat
Bruce Daisley chats to Costas Andriopoulos, professor of innovation and entrepreneurship at Bayes Business School. It definitely lands in the promised sweet spot of “thinking about AI for your own job by taking a step back, by asking yourself how you can connect with AI and why you should”.
??: One of the frustrations we heard at Running Remote was around measuring the impact of in-person gatherings. Well, we’ll take on that challenge! If you want to hear about how we can measure the impact of your offsite and gain insights you can intelligently put back into your team, get in touch at [email protected].
