From heat pumps to ESG: Making sustainable tech simple ??

What we've been up to in the energy sector:

• Simplifying heat pump installations with smart scheduling and automated surveys
• Designing energy monitoring software that helps businesses cut costs and carbon
• Making Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) ratings more actionable for better investment decisions

What we've learned:

1. The energy sector is complex, and energy is difficult to visualise and act upon. But tech doesn't have to be complex to be powerful!
2. We absolutely loved our field research with users (from installers to energy managers) - true ethnography style. Shadowing people at work, understanding their daily jobs, pain points, and workflows helped us design solutions that truly work for them.
3. Small UX improvements can lead to major efficiency gains: our app led to a 20% boost in heat pump conversion rates and 60 hours saved monthly on installer admin, supporting 1000+ installations.

We've built up experience in energy, and enjoy geeking out on everything - from heat loss calculations and energy performance to sustainable development goals, and measuring the behaviours that will help us collectively reach a better place (quite possibly, net zero).
