From fun to frontier: Taking productivity leaps with generative AI

When a generative AI* ChatGPT was launched to a wide audience last year, I started playing with it for fun. It was great to amaze my Aussie friends in higher education who had not yet heard of it. I'm sure their holidays changed drastically trying to get ahead of their students before returning to school after New Years. For sure it was better than the traditional search engines and the novelty of it was fascinating. How this kind of easy access AI will revolutionise industries!

?? Learn how to best use AI to your benefit: To begin with asking ChatGPT simple open ended questions and getting reasonable, human like answers is fun recreational use. Using it as a narrator for historical events or background checks for interesting places worked well, however quickly you learned the limitations of the material and time perspective this AI had been taught. ?

Recreational use of AI teaches you to be specific on what you wanted as an answer. Writing speeches suddenly became very quick, even if it was a teenage girl congratulating her friend, AI can adapt and adjust the language to sound authentic.

Don't hesitate to use AI in work context: Using AI in work context takes little more effort.?ChatGPT can be efficient on writing briefs,?summarising lengthy articles, suggesting agendas, creating business plans, writing marketing materials, newsletters and even offers. Options seem limitless. Human thinking and review is still required as AI may misunderstand your prompt, be limited on its knowledge base or just plain out provide inaccurate information.?

Generative AI can also be taught to your specific context and as such it can become a great sparring partner increasing your productivity and ideation at work many times over saving you hours and days.?
