From Fending for Ourselves to the Rise of #NewIndia: My Entrepreneurial Journey ??

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been an entrepreneur. I’ve seen it all: from the days when entrepreneurship in India was about as popular as a rain dance in a drought, to today’s booming startup culture where entrepreneurs are hailed as the rockstars of the economy. And let me tell you, the transformation is nothing short of magical.

?This week, I had the surreal pleasure of meeting the dream team at DPIIT (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade). Over the years, I’ve envied countries that showered their entrepreneurs with love and support, and I always hoped that one day, India would catch up. Guess what? That day is here!

?You’ve probably heard a lot about the #StartupIndia schemes and benefits. But did you know these initiatives are actually changing lives and boosting businesses? I witnessed this firsthand during my meeting with Joint Secretary DPIIT Shri Sanjiv Singh and Shri Sumeet K Jarangal Director DPIIT. Not only are these initiatives being implemented, but there’s a relentless effort to improve facilities for entrepreneurs, evolving alongside startups. Sri Sanjeev kept referring to this as THE NEW INDIA, and I can’t agree more. I got goosebumps hearing him – that’s how real it felt.

Flashback to my early days: I started my first business at 21, with my parents’ moral support and their air conditioner for my fresh flowers. Today, thanks to Startup India, I met a 22-year-old who’s not just started but also succeeded in record time with the help of DPIIT initiatives. Talk about a level-up!

?In the past, Mr. Narayana Murthy famously said, “It took me 25 years to become an overnight success.” Now, with the right support and a bit of elbow grease, you can shorten that timeframe to a few years. Imagine that – from quarter-century struggles to a startup sprint!

?Our country is evolving, and it’s exhilarating to be part of this transformation. So, here’s a shout-out to all the startups still on the fence: Dive in! The water’s fine!
