From Engineering to Emotional Well-Being: Sakshi's transformative journey to Amplus
Sakshi's journey from engineering to organizational psychology exemplifies the cliche, 'You shine when you do what you love to do.
Today, as a Learning and Development (L&D) Manager at Amplus, Sakshi develops and implements learning strategies, designs training programs, assesses development needs, and monitors learning effectiveness. Apart from her core job role, she has been pivotal in promoting mental health and emotional well-being at Amplus.
The career twist
"My journey from being an engineering graduate working in IT to pursuing organizational psychology has been a truly transformative experience. I realized early on that I had a natural inclination towards offering guidance and support to others. This, combined with my analytical thinking skills from my engineering background, set the stage for my career transition.
My work in raising awareness about mental health and breaking the stigma surrounding it has been deeply fulfilling. Delivering talks on the significance of mental well-being, personal space, and boundaries has been gratifying.

Leading mental health and emotional well-being at Amplus
I was excited when Amplus took a step forward in cultivating an efficient and resilient workforce. We introduced the Employee Wellness Assistance (EWA) program, fostering a supportive environment that acknowledges and addresses mental health concerns and helps employees feel recognized and respected. It showcases the organization's intent to nurture a culture of empathy, compassion, and inclusivity.
About Employee Wellness Assistance Programme
Amidst the evolving landscape of corporate well-being and conventional measures, Amplus has undertaken a multifaceted approach to employee well-being. In addition to partnering with our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider – 1to1help, we are constantly conducting well-being webinars through our Health Insurance Broker (Marsh), and other training vendors. All these initiatives are driven by the ethos encapsulated in Amplus' belief of "With you at the core," which underscores the organization's commitment to prioritizing the individual. Through confidential consultations, employees are also provided with a safe space to address their mental health concerns, seek support, and feel psychologically safe.
Since its inception, the 1to1 initiative has witnessed a commendable uptake, with numerous consultations conducted to date. Each consultation represents a step towards destigmatizing mental health issues and fostering a workplace culture that prioritizes holistic well-being. So far, in association with 1to1help and Marsh, we have organized 10+ webinars and workshops over the year covering 50% of our workforce. Some webinars include Safety in Relationships, From Functioning to Flourishing, and Mandala Art. As a part of our efforts, we have also planned a few Onsite visits by Clinical Psychologists and counselling practitioners in the coming months.
As we navigate the complexities of the modern workplace, it is imperative to recognize that mental health is not a standalone issue but an integral component of overall well-being. With this, we can witness a paradigm shift towards a more humane and sustainable approach to organizational success.
