I'm Dr. Mariam Shaikh, founder and CEO of MS Education Consultants. After 35+ years in education, from establishing my own preschool to leadership roles at top UAE universities, I was ready for a change.

Retirement didn't suit me! Instead, I founded my own company to leverage my experience to directly empower students. MS Education Consultants helps students globally make informed university choices and achieve their career dreams.

My passion for higher education, student development, and a particular interest in supporting women entrepreneurs fuels my work.

Q. What inspired you to venture into the field of education consulting?

My inspiration for education consulting comes directly from the incredible students I've worked with throughout my career. Their unique stories, dreams, and resilience show me the transformative power of education.

Each student has a different background and goals. Seeing them overcome challenges to achieve their academic dreams is incredibly rewarding. That's the power of education – it transcends boundaries and opens doors. With the right guidance and support, any student can achieve their full potential.

Q: What challenges did you face in starting your own education consulting business?

A: A major challenge was the unexpected shift in my career path. While I initially planned for a traditional retirement, the pandemic ignited a desire to keep actively working with students. Adapting to the business world and building a company from scratch was a new and exciting experience.
