Last month’s CEO Dispatch closed with a promise that the Qumu team would be striving to finish 2022 on a high note. That’s why here in mid-December, while people are counting down the shopping days until Christmas, we at Qumu are minding the working days left in the year, making sure we are using each one to execute wisely and well across the board to deliver on that promise.?

With a few days yet to go, it has already been a productive quarter. We have further enriched the Qumu Video Engagement Platform’s industry-leading capabilities, edged ever closer to a client roster that is 100 percent subscription based and continued to win business that will set us up well for the coming year.

Adding Compelling Capabilities to the Qumu Video Engagement Platform

Earlier this month, we announced that Qumu customers can now take full advantage of unique do-it-yourself capabilities for adding interactive elements to videos housed on the Qumu Video Engagement Platform. By building on our platform’s open application programming interfaces (APIs), hihaho, provider of the leading suite of tools for creating interactive videos, enables Qumu customers to easily incorporate interactive elements in their videos. No post-production expenditures or technical expertise is required. Viewer engagement with on-demand videos is notably stronger when viewers can respond to embedded prompts or choose their own paths through a video’s content, which is why we expect customers will find this new capability very attractive.

In addition, we have also extended the integration of the Qumu Video Engagement Platform to Microsoft Teams. Via the Qumu Video Message Extension, users can now create quick video messages directly from Teams chat without leaving the Teams app. The integration with Teams also allows users to stream live meetings via the Qumu Cloud, enabling enhanced scalability, security, interactivity, separate slide streams, automated recording for on-demand delivery and advanced analytics. Qumu is now integrated with Microsoft SharePoint, which enables all videos to be managed from one source, as well as with Teams to allow both quick video messaging and broadcasting meetings to large audiences.

Edging Closer to a Completely Subscription-Based Business

?One of our major remaining on-premises customers completed its conversion to the cloud in the current quarter. This long-time Qumu customer, a multinational engineering and construction firm, is using our platform to produce, manage and deliver on-demand training and executive messaging and for public-facing videos on their website. We were told we won the opportunity to continue to serve them because of the reliability and security of our cloud product, the professionalism of our team and their confidence in Qumu’s ability to support their complex video requirements based on their history with us. It is an extremely gratifying win. Kudos to the team that kept this marquee customer in the “Qumunity.”

Teeing Up ’23

As the year winds down, we are working feverishly to secure contract renewals and close new business to sustain our growth into the new year. Among the fourth quarter wins that will put some wind at our backs in 2023 is an opportunity opened by our recently introduced Qumu Live offering. One of our major customers, one of the largest health solutions companies in the United States, has committed to eight Qumu Live events in 2023. Winning this business just weeks after introducing this offering is rock-solid validation of the value Qumu Live delivers to customers planning high stakes live-streamed events for internal or external audiences.

This is the last CEO Dispatch of 2022. I hope you have found these periodic updates useful and informative.

All of us at Qumu are grateful for your support over the past year. We look forward to reporting our results for the fourth quarter and the year in late January. In the meantime, best wishes to all for the holidays and the new year from all of us at Qumu.
