I'm sure we are all familiar with the favorite age-old business mantra.....Customer is King!

Now ever wondered what’s the buzzword digital marketers are obsessed with?…..Audience is King!

From customer first to audience first, welcome to the changing face of brand experience.

I find the evolving lingo really intriguing…..here are some more interesting ones in the digital world which I could think of:

Loyal customers to Loyal fans
Customer delight to Audience engagement
Marketing noise to Digital/social media noise
Customer needs to Audience needs

In this new virtual playground, I believe the audience connect will have to be more emotional and strike a deeper chord than the customer connect in the real world itself.

Here's why...

The audience has a choice whether to swipe right or scroll down to view content. They want to hear your stories in creative ways, which will capture their interest, create that trust and nurture that excitement to nudge them into turning to the next screen/web page.

Here's how...

I think it is important to bring the focus to smart content on your social media and website.....content which answers a question or sparks a new question in the audience head or simply creates suspense/surprise to create that audience hook and engagement!

Hi Sheetal. I think your insights are very important to raise debates. Despite audiences become important, they are made up of bunches of individuals engaging to messages that fit their thoughts and needs. The point to me is that we want (need) that the channel, that allows us to interact so directly, grabs their interest immediatelly, because, as you properly said, they are at a finger movement to go away.
