My journey toward postbiotics began in an unexpected place - a boarding school. Surrounded by classmates from different backgrounds, I noticed how our habits shaped our well-being. Some students, active in sports and fueled by balanced diets rich in fruits, vegetables, and dairy, bounced back quickly from colds. Others, who skipped meals or leaned on fast food, stayed sick longer and seemed constantly drained. This sparked a deep curiosity in me: how could something as simple as food play such a vital role in recovery and overall health?
That curiosity stayed with me, driving me into the world of scientific research. Over the years, I’ve carried that same hunger to understand how the body works, particularly how what we eat affects our health. My passion isn’t just academic; it’s a calling to solve real-world health challenges by transforming discoveries into tangible solutions.
This passion led me to the world of postbiotics - bioactive compounds produced when probiotics break down dietary fibers or other substances in our gut. These compounds, including enzymes and metabolites, have incredible potential for enhancing immunity, gut health, and overall wellness. I’m fascinated by how nature offers us these hidden health tools, and I’ve made it my mission to uncover how they can improve lives.
Recently, at The Live Green Co , we achieved a breakthrough in postbiotics. While working on precision fermentation - using our proprietary database, Charaka?, which integrates ancestral knowledge - we ran trials on wild strains. To our revelation, two strains that typically don’t grow together were thriving synergistically in co-fermentation. Testing their tolerance to alcohol and lactic acid, we discovered a novel postbiotic ingredient: GutRevyv?.
What makes GutRevyv? special is that it combines postbiotic metabolites from two different genera, something rarely achieved. It’s not only a unique scientific discovery but also a commercially viable one, thanks to optimized fermentation conditions. Now, it is market ready, we are confident that GutRevyv? will provide consumers with a natural, effective solution for gut health and beyond.
None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of my co-scientists, our Director of Science, and the unwavering belief of our CEO, who have all played a pivotal role in making this discovery a reality. For me it’s about a lifelong journey of curiosity, discovery, and the drive to make health innovations accessible to all.
As we work on bringing GutRevyv? to the world, I also set personal challenges to keep myself focused on health and well-being - one of my goals is to run a half marathon in under two hours. Just like in science, persistence, discipline, and growth are key to achieving success in both life and health.
