From the cubicle of a Business Analyst Intern @HotelKey

My Fall 2023 internship at HotelKey as a Business Analyst Intern was a transformative journey that immersed me in the dynamic world of hospitality technology. Throughout the internship, I was key in extracting valuable insights and optimizing processes within the Property Management System (PMS). It introduced me to a fresh career dimension and instilled invaluable life lessons.

Being a part of the Integration team, I had a chance to collaborate closely with clients, which was an integral aspect of my internship. I had the opportunity to coordinate with clients to comprehend their unique business requirements. Armed with this understanding, I proposed and implemented tailored solutions that seamlessly integrated with HotelKey offerings. This client-centric approach not only enhanced my communication skills but also emphasized the importance of aligning technology solutions with real-world business needs.

Within the Integration division of the PMS, I actively participated in testing various configurations and APIs. Utilizing tools like Postman and MySQL, I meticulously validated different features of the product. This hands-on experience not only expanded my technical proficiency but also allowed me to contribute directly to the refinement and optimization of the Property Management System.

In addition to the core responsibilities, I had the opportunity to contribute to significant projects related to Sales Cloud enhancements, Revenue Management System integration, and the mapping of the Local Interfaces between Hotels and our systems. A pivotal aspect of my internship involved collaborating on Sales Cloud enhancements to optimize customer relationship management (CRM) processes on Salesforce. I worked closely with the sales team, gathering insights into their workflow and challenges. Through detailed analysis and strategic recommendations, I contributed to implementing improvements that streamlined sales processes, fostering efficiency and enhancing customer interactions. ??Jennifer Suski , Thank you for trusting me with this aspect.

Working as a Business Analyst intern at HotelKey exposed me to a collaborative and cross-functional work environment. I collaborated closely with stakeholders from different departments, gaining insights into diverse aspects of the business. This experience enhanced my ability to navigate complex organizational structures and strengthened my skills in effective teamwork.

I would like to thank my direct peers Aatish Patel and Ayush Shakya , my reporting manager/good old friend Saswat Prusty , my go-to person for my all technical queries Rohit Poduval , and last but not least, Katrina Stephenson for being an absolutely terrific manager to all of us. Your mentorship and support have been invaluable in shaping my career trajectory. Your ability to lead the team with empathy, transparency, and a focus on results has been an inspiration to me and has taught me how to be a better leader myself. Your willingness to invest time and effort in helping me develop my skills and knowledge has been truly appreciated, and I will carry the lessons I learned from you into my future endeavors.
