"From Corporate Climb to Healing Hearts: Embracing Change at 32"

At 32, I made the bold decision to leave my role as a Service Delivery Manager at Accenture to pursue my passion for psychotherapy in the USA. This journey led me to earn my associate's degree, attend classes alongside students half my age, join sororities, and publish articles for Counseling Today. I completed my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Addictions Counseling, became EMDR trained, and established my own private practice, focusing on veterans. This transition was undoubtedly daunting—after 18 years in a stable career, the leap into the unknown was filled with uncertainty. However, it has also been incredibly rewarding.
Here are five lessons I’ve learned along the way:
Ultimately, leaving my established career to chase my dreams was terrifying but equally exhilarating. You can pursue your passion at any age, and it’s worth every leap of faith.
