From Cluttered Chaos to Organized Bliss: How to Transform Your Wardrobe

As we head into a new season (spring 2023), many of us are looking for ways to simplify our lives and create more space for the things that matter.

One area where we can all benefit from simplification is our wardrobes.

Our closets can easily become cluttered with clothes we no longer wear or that no longer fit our personal style.

If you're looking to declutter your wardrobe and create a more streamlined and organized closet, here are some tips to get you started:

  1. Get rid of clothes that don't fit: One of the most common reasons people hold onto clothes they don't wear is because they think they might fit into them again someday. But if you haven't worn something in over a year, it's unlikely you'll wear it again in the future. So, be ruthless and get rid of clothes that don't fit.
  2. Get rid of clothes you haven't worn in over a year: Another way to be ruthless when decluttering your wardrobe is by getting rid of clothes you haven't worn in over a year. If you haven't worn something in over a year, it's unlikely you'll wear it again in the future. So, be ruthless and get rid of these clothes. That means the full cycle of four seasons - get rid of it.
  3. Get rid of clothes with stains or holes: Be ruthless and get rid of clothes with stains or holes. If they can't be fixed or cleaned, they're not worth keeping.
  4. Get rid of clothes you don't feel confident in: If you have clothes in your wardrobe that you don't feel confident in, be ruthless and get rid of them. You should only keep clothes in your wardrobe that make you feel good about yourself.
  5. Get rid of clothes you don't love: Be ruthless and get rid of clothes you don't love. You should only keep clothes in your wardrobe that you truly love and that make you feel good about yourself.
  6. Get rid of clothes that don't match your current style: If your personal style has changed and you have clothes in your wardrobe that no longer reflect your current style, be ruthless and get rid of them.
  7. Get rid of clothes you're keeping for sentimental reasons: Be ruthless and get rid of clothes you're keeping for sentimental reasons. Sentimental items can be kept in a memory box rather than taking up space in your wardrobe.
  8. Get rid of clothes you're keeping "just in case": Be ruthless and get rid of clothes you're keeping "just in case." If you haven't worn something in over a year, it's unlikely you'll wear it again in the future.

When decluttering your wardrobe, it's important to be honest with yourself.

If you know deep down that you'll never wear a certain item again, be ruthless and get rid of it.

Don't hold onto clothes out of guilt or sentimentality.

Remember, the ultimate goal is to have a wardrobe full of clothes that you love and that make you feel good about yourself.

It's also important to keep in mind that decluttering your wardrobe is not a one-time event.

It's a continuous process, and you will have to keep repeating it periodically to keep your wardrobe neat and organized.

I do it at least twice a year.

The biggest problem i have is with suits, as we make them, it is so hard to see them go!

It's a good idea to take breaks in between decluttering sessions, so you don't get overwhelmed and stop enjoying the process.

Once you've decluttered your wardrobe, make sure to organize it in a way that makes it easy for you to see what you have, so you can make better use of it. This can include separating clothes by category, color, or by season.

Let me know how you get on with removing clothes from your wardrobe to make it streamlined!
