From child's drawing to functional prototype
#teamBSH supports the creative program MyMachine
Fostering creativity in the younger generation is crucial for the future development of society. That is why we at BSH Drives and Pumps Slovakia enthusiastically welcomed the opportunity to continue our partnership with the MyMachine Slovakia programme. This renewed connection, announced in October 2023, has opened the door to another year full of inspiring projects and new opportunities for children and students in Eastern Slovakia.
Already in November 2023, our colleagues actively participated in the project by attending a kick-off event at a primary school in Humenne. Here, the children of the third grade were given a task - to draw their own dream machines. This activity not only sparked the children's imagination, but also laid the foundations for the next phases of the project, in which these drawings will be turned into real prototypes.
Our support was also given to another key phase of the project. In February 2024, we supported the MyMachine inventors' meeting at the Technical University of Ko?ice. This event represented an important milestone, where high school students from Humenne presented their initial technical solutions for Kolomko - a fun moving robotic cone that the children had imagined.
The final MyMachine EXPO event at the Technical University of Ko?ice in 2024 was the high point of the whole programme. Primary school children were thrilled to see their inventions come to life, including the finalised robot - Kolomko, which could talk, move, light up and be controlled via smartphone. The event showcased the results of student collaboration at all levels, from concept to working prototype.

#teamBSH, Jan Sepela and Martin Cernakovic , also played a key role throughout the year. They provided invaluable guidance and expertise to the student teams, contributing significantly to the success of the projects. Their commitment not only helped the students overcome technical challenges, but also inspired the young innovators.
In order to better understand the experience of the participants, we interviewed two young students involved in the programme - Ondrej and Samuel. Their insights gave us a glimpse behind the scenes of the project. They told us more about the obstacles and challenges they faced thanks to their participation in the MyMachine programme.
We also interviewed other participants in the programme to gain a deeper insight into their experiences.
Looking back on another successful year, BSH Drives and Pumps Slovakia is proud of the continued support of the MyMachine programme. By encouraging creativity, teamwork and hands-on innovation among students, we are helping a new generation of inventors and problem solvers in east region of Slovakia.
