At the peak of my career, I had it all—or so it seemed. Success in the professional world should have brought happiness, but instead, I found myself drowning in a relentless cycle of stress and dissatisfaction.
The signs were everywhere:
I was at a breaking point, trapped in a cycle of non-stop growth and mounting frustration. It was clear: something had to change.
I knew I needed to regain control—not just of my work, but of my life. So, I made some crucial decisions:
1. Letting Go of What Didn’t Serve Me
I realized that I had spread myself too thin. In my effort to please everyone, I was losing sight of my core values. So, I made the difficult decision to part ways with clients who didn’t align with my purpose. By focusing on those who shared my vision, I could bring more value and fulfillment to my work.
2. Setting Boundaries
This was a game changer. I started defining strict work hours, making sure evenings and weekends were sacred. These boundaries allowed me to protect my personal time, reducing stress and helping me reconnect with the things that truly mattered.
3. Reconnecting with My Why
The final piece was reflecting on what truly drives me. I took the time to rediscover my passions, reigniting the fire for what I love about my work. This helped me not just endure the day-to-day grind but thrive in it again.

1 个月This really resonates, Cory. The part about letting go of what doesn’t serve you hit home—whether in your career or personal life, that clarity makes such a difference. I’ve found the same principle applies to networking as well. Being intentional about who you invest time in, focusing on connections that align with your values, can transform those relationships into something more meaningful. It’s a reminder that balance is key, both in how we manage our work and who we choose to connect with and, incidentally, why I value our connection. One of my big questions is, how do you decide which opportunities to let go of, especially when everything seems urgent? It feels sometimes like I don't have enough time to get clarity or even figure out what that means for me.

1 个月I love your point about reconnecting with your why, Cory. It is so easy to forget why we're doing what we're doing, and just obsessively chase success with no end in sight. But actually understanding what motivated us in the first place keeps us grounded.
