From Chaos to Clarity: How to Find Your True Career Path

We’re in the final stages of editing my upcoming book, "Career Change is Chaos... Unless You Find Your Purple Purpose," and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you, with the launch planned for mid-October! This book is for anyone feeling overwhelmed by a career transition or simply seeking clarity on their true path. At its core, the book is about one thing: finding your purpose and how that leads to a fulfilling career and life.
In today’s world, we are often told to follow our passions or chase opportunities, but this book takes a deeper approach. It’s about uncovering your unique purpose—what I call your Purple Purpose—and aligning your career choices with it. When you do this, the chaos of career change begins to dissolve, and clarity emerges. This isn’t about just landing any job—it’s about finding the right path for you.
Purpose as the Driver of Perspective and Prosperity
One of the key concepts I explore in the book is how perspective shapes everything. Often, when we are caught in the storm of uncertainty or feeling trapped in a career that doesn’t fulfil us, it’s our perspective that needs to shift. Changing how we see ourselves and the opportunities around us is the foundation of a growth mindset, which is essential for making purposeful career choices.
In the book, I also introduce the idea of prosperity—not as an end goal of wealth, but as the result of cultivating the right perspective. Prosperity, in this sense, is about aligning your mindset with growth, seeing challenges as opportunities, and believing in the abundance that comes from living in alignment with your purpose. It’s a powerful shift that opens up new possibilities, both in your career and your personal life.
While I don’t delve deeply into the relationship between purpose and financial wealth in this book—that could be a topic for future work—I emphasise that prosperity flows from perspective, and cultivating a growth mindset is key to achieving fulfilment in your career and life.
Purpose Leads to Financial Freedom
When we talk about prosperity in the Purposeek Coaching Method , we aren’t just talking about accumulating wealth. We’re talking about achieving financial freedom—whatever that looks like for you. For some, it’s about breaking free from financial constraints, becoming self-sufficient, or shifting spending habits to align with your values. For others, it could mean building a successful business or simply having the financial stability to pursue their passion without constant worry.
The reality is that finding your purpose often opens the door to financial freedom. Once you're living in alignment with what truly drives you, your relationship with money changes. Whether you seek abundance or simply a comfortable, self-reliant life, purpose helps you focus on what truly matters, making financial decisions clearer and more intentional.
In my book, I explore how understanding your purpose naturally leads you to redefine your financial goals in a way that supports the life you truly want to live. As researchers like Dr. Paul Dolan (author of Happiness by Design) have pointed out, when we focus on purpose-driven activities, we are more likely to achieve a sense of well-being that includes financial peace. Your unique Purple Purpose—the one that’s tailored to your values and strengths—becomes the driving force behind your ability to create financial freedom on your own terms.
The Reverse is Also True: Financial Literacy Supports Purpose
In our recent PurposeCast episode on Purpose and Finance, which garnered almost 100 downloads on the first day (thank you for the incredible support!), we explored the flip side of this equation. Financial literacy is not just a bonus—it’s a critical tool in the pursuit of purpose. Without a basic understanding of how to manage your resources, the journey to finding purpose can be slowed down or even derailed by financial stress.

As Maxime Chaury from Upworth and I discussed, having a minimum level of financial preparedness allows you to focus on the bigger picture: discovering and living your purpose. It’s much easier to explore new career paths, take risks, and embrace opportunities when you’re not constantly worried about finances. This is why in my book, while Purpose is always at the forefront, Prosperity plays a supporting role in helping you make that journey as smooth as possible.
The connection between purpose and prosperity is powerful. It’s not just about having money, but about using financial resources as a tool to build the life you’re meant to live. And this balance between the two is something that modern thinkers like Tony Robbins and Elizabeth Dunn have spoken about extensively—both emphasise how financial security enables us to take charge of our lives and pursue our true passions without being held back by money worries.
