From challenge comes change...

Celebrating International Women's Day 2021, the Inventum Group embrace this year's theme of #ChooseToChallenge, a message at the very heart of our work...

#IWD2021 and its wider concepts go far beyond work life for all of us at the Inventum Group and today we want to shine a spotlight on one of our Directors, Heather Lawson, to highlight the incredible work she does for breast cancer charity, Walk The Walk.

 In February 2020, Heather travelled to the Arctic Circle with a group of 13 women and men to backcountry ski a marathon for Walk the Walk – best known as the organisers of the iconic MoonWalk London.

Lifelong friendships were formed, as the group skied 26 miles on virgin Arctic Circle snow.

Many of the group already had a close link to breast cancer – one had lost his wife to the disease, others had been diagnosed themselves or been touched by breast cancer in some way.

From challenge comes change, so let's all choose to challenge... 

Just before Christmas, three members of the group – including Heather – discovered that close friends, all of them young, had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Inspired to support their friends, they choose to challenge themselves yet again, by taking on a a much bigger 'virtual' walking challenge – rooted in their areas but covering a massive 3,492 miles, the distance from London to Rousseau in Canada, where a member of the group originally hails.
