From Challenge to Change
An uneasy guide to let yourself out of your comfort zone

From Challenge to Change

Change leads to growth!

Everyday, we wake up and we go to work and eal with different tasks to overcome. These actions varies from dealing with clients, answering phone calls, analyzing reports, etc. What we do is what makes us up.

Most people love talking about change and improving themselves but a few truly feel comfortable to embrace the challenges that lead to change. But why is that?

Not proud to say, that I was one of those many people who hardly accept change in my regular routine. The daily routine, makes us feel comfortable in mastering by repeating our chores. Starting a new chore for the first times, makes us stick to the handbook. After a while, we master what we do and we probably won't check with the guidelines.

When an incident happens that leads to change (i.e. career change), the first thing is that we do is we feel threatened. Feared by the new environment, people and culture, we feel unsecure and unconfident. We try to find new ways to get out. Sometimes, we think of the "good ole' days" by comparison of today and yesteryears. We got to live in the moment. The past won't last forever. By feeling nostalgic, you will only make the transition phase difficult. You should only focus to excel at what you do now and think of the challenges and improvement.

From my studies, I have learned that I(as a person and a business) should have a plan B. But sometimes not having a plan B is the winning approach!

Imagine there's no way out of this new challenge! You just cannot quit and crawl back to the easy and comfortable zone!

Surrounding yourself among the confident colleagues who try to improve you quickly and efficiently will make this whole transition easier.

Facing the new challenges, you will be observing new problems and issues that you probably never realized. To tackle those you have learn new skills, practice them repeatedly and feel confident and comfortable, as you were in your comfort zone in the past.

Exiting your comfort zone and entering the unknown land is really difficult and painful. When I started my career - take this as an uncomfortable confession- I had no idea what I was doing! I was just running errands and tried to imitate what my peers were doing. When I started to realize the WHY of doing things, that boosted me into the "learning zone".

If it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you!

I have been blessed; working with great bunch of people was such a boost in my career. I do understand that this cannot always be the case and sometimes we are intimidated by coworkers. But we have to have faith in what we do. Believe in yourself and know that you are starting this challenge because other trusted you and your skill set.

Keeping your mind open and accept new ideas are tools that can help you pass the learning zone less troubling but not quicker. If you want to enter the next phase quicker, you won't be embracing the change and training.

After we feel comfortable in what we do, we will set new goals and dreams for ourselves. Promotion, earning more money, buying a house, car, etc. can all be objectives to move you forward.

Keep in mind that no matter how difficult the process is:

Change leads to growth!
