From the CEO's Desk: RAKEZ's Extraordinary Results, Sustainability Awards, Events, "Open Yards" & More

Hello to my colleagues at RAKEZ, our customers and business partners across Ras Al Khaimah, and to my extended LinkedIn family in the UAE and around the globe. Welcome to my monthly newsletter: From the CEO's Desk!?

Over the past few weeks, I’ve received a lot of interesting questions from people across various industries who have asked me about the ongoing events, activities, and new products and services within the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone’s manufacturing, industrial, and SME sectors.

This newsletter is designed to answer some of these questions, but also keep everyone informed and updated about what’s happening within our organization.?

Our excellent team at RAKEZ is always working hard to ensure that we’ve always truly listened to our customers and have addressed their needs. We are committed to creating a positive business ecosystem, where everyone can build their businesses, receive the support that they need, and contribute to the emirate’s economy.

1. RAKEZ Posts Extraordinary Results in Q2 2023

We have enjoyed the past few months at RAKEZ.

The story is evident in the numbers:

- 1,500 new companies have joined our ecosystem in the past three months.

- That’s 132% higher than the growth we witnessed during the same time in 2022.

Our recently launched Traders District has played a crucial role in this growth, with the general trading and commercial sectors accounting for 680 of the new companies.

We have also seen 600 new companies in services, 170 new companies within e-commerce, and 100 companies within the media sector.

2. RAKEZ Wins Top Sustainability Awards

So proud of our teams at @RAKEZ for lifting the best “Glass Collection Campaign” Award and being recognized among the Top 10 champions in the “Can Collection Campaign” category.

RAKEZ received these honours at the Emirates Recycling Awards hosted by Emirates Environmental Group (EEG).

There’s no doubt that our teams are always on the frontlines of environmental and sustainability initiatives.?

During the past eight months, RAKEZ has:

- Collected 15,056 kg of glass bottles from the Al Hamra and Al Ghail industrial parks in Ras Al Khaimah.?

- Collected 488 kg of aluminium cans from four zones in RAKEZ – Al Hamra Industrial Zone, Al Hulaila Industrial Zone, Al Ghail Industrial Zone, and our Business Zone.

Looking forward to ensuring a more sustainable future for all in the months to come.

3. RAKEZ Signs Key Agreement With the ICFA

Earlier in July, RAKEZ signed an important Memorandum of Understanding?

the Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture (ICFA).

This agreement will help Ras Al Khaimah and India work together on the development of our food and agriculture sectors.

We will collaborate to focus on advancing agricultural innovation, crop improvement, sustainable farming practices, and food processing technologies.

India has long been a strategic trade and investment partner for the UAE, especially in terms of sustainable farming and food technologies.

Here’s to exchanging knowledge, enhancing the capabilities of tech and agricultural companies within our business community as well as in the Indian subcontinent together.

4. Business Networking Events at RAKEZ

As part of our mission to continue fostering connections and driving growth, RAKEZ has held its next set of networking events, bringing people together to address the trends and challenges faced across industries.?

We recognise the power of working together in today’s ever-changing business landscape.?

Networking events such as these serve as regular platforms for businesses to meet, exchange ideas, and unlock new possibilities.
