From CEO to Craftsman
What do you do when you retire? Especially if you have been working in a highly pressured high profile executive role shouldering huge responsibility?
Well, if your name is Peter Murley then you turn to your first love, handicrafts. Pete retired from the world of business and has now set his artistic talents to creating all things wood using his design skills, creativity and handicraft expertise to work alongside wife Carol to pull together a shop and website which offers kids toys, personalised mugs and coasters, and many other things.
You can check out their story here https://ggworkshop.sumupstore.com/ , and see a selection of their vast range of products they now design, cut, sand and polish ready for their waiting public. Most people who see their range comment on how beautifully they finish their items, and how under/reasonably priced they are. Let's face it, artisan crafts are never going to make much money, and certainly they will never make you rich, but it is more about finding something fun, engaging and active to get involved in post retirement. And I personally think Pete and Carol have found the perfect way to keep themselves active and engaged with life now retired.
Good luck, is what I say. I only hope that when I get to retire, I can still be as motivated and driven.
