Did you know that in the next few weeks, you have the opportunity to make a lasting impression that can launch you into your career?
Unfortunately, most students waste their last few weeks of school waiting for the semester to end so that they can move on to the next stage of their life.
Think of all that you’ve been able to accomplish and overcome these last few years, you’ve…
As an international student, you don't want to make the mistake of letting these weeks fly by without stopping to reflect on how you have grown. It’s the perfect time to connect with the people who have made your journey special.
These unique experiences and relationships will set you up for success after graduation.
Let's explore some ideas of things you can do to make the most of your time left on campus.
1. Thank Your Professors ?? ??
Take the time to write a note or get a gift to show appreciation for your professors. They have been instrumental in your academic journey. Show them how much you have valued their support and help over the last few years.
2. Plan a Photo Shoot ??
Grab your cap and gown and plan a photo shoot with your friends around campus. This is a fun way to commemorate your time at school. You’ll have a set of photos that you take with you and cherish for years to come.
3. Get Your EAD ??
Research and take steps to get your Employment Authorization Document (EAD) to get Optional Practical Training (OPT) status. This will allow you to work in the US after graduation.
You have 60 days from graduation to apply for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) to get Optional Practical Training (OPT) status. It's important to apply as soon as possible after graduation to avoid any delays in processing and to maximize the amount of time you have to work in the United States.
4. Help a Junior???
Find someone lower than you in your program and impart some wisdom and experience on them. Be sure to invest in the next batch of students and help them succeed.
5. Connect with Alumni???
Reach out to other alumni to grow your network by connecting with others on LinkedIn and growing your professional community. This will help you stay connected to your school and provide opportunities for professional growth.

1 年Great pointers Rob. I missed out on the part of sending an appreciation note to my Professors and I guess I did send out some later on, but its a great reminder to thank them early on for all the support they provide us with during this journey
