From Cable to Broadband: A Local Operator's Transformation

The era of local cable monopolies is fading, challenged by giants like Jio and Airtel. To survive, operators must evolve into sales-driven broadband franchisees. This transition demands a shift from passive service provision to aggressive customer acquisition and retention.

Firstly, implementing differentiated selling schemes is crucial. Beyond basic broadband, operators should offer bundled OTT and IPTV packages, mirroring competitor offerings while leveraging their unique strengths. Targeted sales strategies, like referral programs and introductory discounts, can attract new customers.

Secondly, robust marketing activities are vital. Localized campaigns, social media engagement, and community events can build brand visibility. Operators must highlight their 20-year legacy of trust and personalized service, emphasizing the value of long-standing relationships.

Thirdly, proactive home visits are essential. Converting existing cable subscribers to broadband requires direct engagement. Operators should showcase the benefits of faster internet, diverse content, and reliable support. Demonstrating personalized solutions tailored to individual needs can solidify conversions.

Finally, continuous network upgrades are non-negotiable. Investing in FTTH and WDM technologies ensures future-proof infrastructure, delivering superior connectivity. This commitment to innovation reinforces the operator's dedication to customer satisfaction.

By embracing these strategies, local operators can transform from passive service providers to dynamic broadband franchisees, effectively competing with multinational players and securing their future in the evolving digital?landscape.
