In the American market, a common connector for a soaker hose is a 5/8"x15M brass adapter. This adapter requires the use of a machine to crimp it onto the hose, making it difficult to separate once connected. However, it cannot be connected to the hose easily at home without the necessary equipment.
On the other hand, in the European market, a typical connector is a 1/2"x15M plastic connector with a plastic valve. This connector can be connected by hand, but it has a tendency to come off easily.
Recently, a new type of connector has emerged in the market. These connectors are made of plastic but can be connected by hand. Despite being made of plastic, they have a unique design with serrated edges on the inside that tightly grip the soaker hose, making them less prone to detachment. This design feature has made them increasingly popular among consumers.
