From Berlin to Brooklyn: Inspiring People to Take Action Today

In times like these, we need to design for belonging. Impactful change doesn’t come from passive audiences or AI agents on autopilot. It comes from real people who feel personally invested in a shared purpose.

Creating a culture of commitment means moving beyond one-time engagement. When people find their peers and build real connections, participation turns into purpose. When they have ownership, they don’t just support a movement — they shape it.

In 2024, we built and branded movements that matter: from moral ambition to mental health, from the fight against cancer to the housing crisis. We designed covers for bestsellers, launched brands for new startups, and strengthened the campaigns of established institutions.

Across Northern Europe and North America, these designs brought people together around causes worth committing to. In 2025, we’re going even bigger.

Now, our creative director Harald Dunnink is building the global campaign headquarters in New York, leading the launch of both the book Moral Ambition and the US chapter of The School for Moral Ambition alongside his cofounder, New York Times bestselling author Rutger Bregman , writer of Humankind.

We helped establish The School for Moral Ambition because we believe the world’s most ambitious people should work on the world’s most important problems. Since its founding, we’ve welcomed the team into our Amsterdam office for a full year, shared our lunches, and built the brand together. After helping secure a new space, the World Trade Center (WTC) Amsterdam on the Zuidas is now the European HQ of The School.

With Momkai, we designed both the foundation and Rutger’s new book, Moral Ambition, set to launch across the US and UK this spring. Were helping to spread its message through its own channels. The main focus is on LinkedIn, the go-to platform for those looking to pivot their careers, and on Instagram, which captures the movement’s energy and vibe. Just last week, after a viral moment around Davos, the Instagram following doubled to over 31,000.

The book has already become a bestseller in every market where it launched since spring 2024 — including the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Austria, and Finland. All royalties from Moral Ambition are donated to The School for Moral Ambition.

Through community creation, talent matchmaking, and brand building, we aim to make doing good look good.

Momkai cover designs and moral ambition messaging in English and German
Trevor Noah – “Moral Ambition is a call to action for humanity to reevaluate our paradigms of success and impact in the world. It serves as a stark wake-up call, urging us to truly utilize our talents to create the future we all wish to live in.”
Stephen Fry – “A tremendous trumpet call to clear our heads of the current inward looking obsessions with self-realisationnbsp;and to think instead about satisfying that part of us that can make a difference to the world.
Jameela Jamil – Bregman has become the voice in my head. A disruptive revolutionary armed with an actual, tangible plan. At last.

Rise Against Cancer, with our signature handwritten look

A healthy evolution of the bon vivant lifestyle, right where it all began: in the heart of Belgium

Last year, we proved that healthy lifestyle and joyful collective celebration can go hand in hand. Together with Kom op tegen Kanker (vzw) ('Rise Against Cancer', the Belgian cancer society), we launched The New Bon Vivant: a movement that reimagines this Burgundian way of life for a healthier future.

With a warm yet modern brand identity, a low-code digital platform, and famous Flemish ambassadors like Micha?l Sels , Karine Claassen , and Bert De Backer , it’s already reached millions. Tens of thousands have joined, and we’re only getting started.

Movements don’t happen overnight, and we’re proud to continue working with this impactful foundation to drive a true cultural shift forward: one that brings us closer to a cancer-free world.

A revolutionary journalism brand that stands the test of time; celebrating a decade of non-fiction bestsellers

After 10 years of working together on the De Correspondent brand, we reconnected with editor-in-chief Rob Wijnberg and CEO Sabine Bijleveld to evolve this leading media brand and enhance the member experience.

While strengthening its core identity, we helped launch their new platform and designed book covers for impactful bestsellers, including Tim 'S Jongers bestseller on explaining poverty to people with money and Sander Schimmelpenninck ’s razor-sharp analysis (50,000 copies sold and counting!) of how organized stupidity is tightening its grip on society.

These covers do more than capture attention: they help spread urgent societal messages and spark the conversations needed to drive change. Memberful design amplifies the ideas that shape our world, and we’re proud to be part of that mission.

Members power the movement for unbreaking news

The newly redesigned journalism platform for De Correspondent offers an intuitive website and app interface, making it easier for members to access the stories that matter to them. We reimagined the platform from the ground up, enhancing navigation, readability, and engagement. Members can now read or listen to articles, share their expertise, and explore related insights — all within an immersive, distraction-free environment.

We bring people together – through brand strategy, award-winning design, and effective communication – to drive meaningful change.

At Momkai , we focus on uniting people around a shared purpose, fostering engaged communities, and creating a culture of commitment. This approach, which we call memberful design, enables us to craft collective success alongside those who make a difference.

Our branding work has helped organizations across Europe, the US, and Canada stay relevant and impactful — turning audiences into firestarters, united by a common mission. Let's connect.

PS: We couldn’t help ourselves. We had to help launch another crowdfunding campaign. With the World Economic Forum in Davos happening again, global elites will gather to discuss a wide range of issues, except tax avoidance.

That’s why we’re backing the Tax Fairness Fellowship:
