How the People Who Helped Bring 'Avatar' to Life Are Now Making Digital Twins
Computer-generated imagery isn’t just for the silver screen anymore as engineers say no to Hollywood and yes to a real estate paycheck. BeyondView, under the leadership of CEO Kul Wadhwa, is one firm that has stacked its ranks with defectors from showbiz who can whip up Pixar-quality digital twins and give clients an idea of how buildings will feel once barren spaces are built out. Using prepared materials such as blueprints or photos, BeyondView is able to create digital twins of commercial and life science spaces without having to make scans like similar outfits, and they say they do it at a lower cost compared to their competitors.

Andrew McGeorge, Hines' New DC Office Head, Plots First Moves
“In the short term, my goal is to execute our current development pipeline and deploy our discretionary fund capital to take advantage of the current asset repricing that is taking place in this volatile market,” Andrew McGeorge told Commercial Observer. “My long-term goal is to diversify our revenue streams by growing our development, acquisitions and management services businesses.” McGeorge has been with Hines since 2020, coming over from Fairfield Residential after three years serving as the D.C. firm’s vice president of development. Before that, he spent 10 years at Monday Properties in the District, holding several executive titles.
