From Assistant to Co-Creator: The Rise of AI in Content Creation

Imagine this: it's a regular Wednesday, and you have a big presentation for a potential client. You're feeling confident, but then you remember that you're presenting to a team of experts and start feeling a little nervous. But wait - you have the ultimate assistant, an AI-powered tool that can generate a professional-grade presentation in just minutes. You simply give it the relevant information, which takes care of everything else, from creating the slides to adding and generating relevant images and audio.

Wait; you don’t need to imagine this; it’s already here. Welcome to 2023.

How’s Microsoft revolutionizing the movement?

Last week, March 17th, Microsoft announced AI Copilot for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.?

Here are their 6 breakthrough feature that changes the future of work forever:

  1. Automatic meeting notes in Teams

Copilot will catch people up on anything they might’ve missed in a call. It will get up to speed on the conversation, organize key discussion points and summarize key actions.?

This means improved accountability to avoid tasks falling through the cracks.

2. Streamlined communication in Outlook

It will summarise email threads, draft messages adjusting tone and length, and respond to an email with a simple prompt.?

This means improved context understanding and email response times.

3. Better data analysis in Excel

Copilot will ask questions in natural language, create visualizations and identify trends, and uncover correlations and propose what-if scenarios.

This will enable effortless data-driven decision-making.

4. Collaborate more with Business Chat

It will personalize teamwork by unifying data and apps. Copilot will access data across documents, email, and calendars; it will focus on individuals’ essential work instead of managing tools and keep everyone on the team in sync.?

This will streamline the information flow.

5. 10x writing with Copilot in Word

Copilot will use prompts to upgrade the writing experience. This means that it will generate first drafts, summarise, edit, and adjust tone, and also strengthen arguments and consistency.

This will enhance writing by bringing in information from across the organization.

6. Elevated presentations in PowerPoint

Copilot will save hours of design work. This means it will turn documents into decks with speaker notes, refine layouts and formatting and condense presentations.

This will enable individuals to improve their storytelling skills by focusing on the story, not the style.

It’s more important than ever for companies to use AI-powered productivity tools - like GPT-4 and Microsoft Copilot to avoid getting left behind. As a result, we’ll be able to research faster, get information faster and make decisions faster.

How did this news land with the world?

Since the day it’s been announced, we collected 75k mentions of the keyword online. These conversations generated 2.5 billion impressions across all sources.?

As Microsoft envisages, the coming months will show whether the Assistant will be a game-changer for the world of work. The chances of success are great.

Midjourney volume 5 - more realistic than ever

But AI isn’t progressing only when it comes to generating text. Midjourney, one of the most popular text-to-image AI services online, released their 5th version two days ago - and it’s both creepy and too perfect, experts say. One because of the other, probably.

Like with everything, there are two sides to this coin. On the one hand, there is a raising concern over the damage that artificial intelligence could do to artists and other industries. Not to mention the use of this technology to spread disinformation, steal the work of other illustrators, etc.?

On the other hand, the backers of technology argue that it could increase productivity immensely and automate the tasks once done by people.

Despite the ongoing debate, the public talked about it mainly positively, as we can see through Determ.

Midjourney has been largely talked about on Twitter, leading to some amusing results.

AI of Trump’s arrest leading to a ban

The access to AI opens a huge window of creativity. And some got really creative.

Eliot Higgins, the Belingcat creator, has tweeted a range of AI-generated images of Donald Trump being arrested.

He prompted Midjourney to capture what it would look like if Trump were swept up by police on the streets of New York outside of a building that looks like Trump Tower, how his children would react, and what his life would be like in jail.

The result? He’s gone viral and Midjourney banned him from the platform (and the word “arrest”).?

So what would be the most meaningful adjective to add next to AI at this moment? Dangerous? Or useful?

Time will tell. But it sure is here to revolutionize our everyday work, in more than one ways.
