From Acorns to Mighty Oaks
Dear Friends of Oakley House Durbanville
The first term is in full swing at our new campus at 32B Murray Street in Durbanville. The large campus garden lends itself to outdoor learning and discovery and our learners particularly enjoy collecting acorns, checking on the ripeness of the figs and the pears, and playing under the shade of the Oak tree at break! We are thrilled to have children enrolled in Grade 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 at present, and are hopeful of growing our numbers as the year progresses.
"Like acorns, our potential for growth lies in the smallest of seeds. Nourish them with perseverance, and watch them flourish into mighty oaks."
At Oakley House, we provide specialised support for children with diverse learning needs, including those with diagnoses such as ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, sensory processing difficulties, anxiety, and high functioning ASD. With small class sizes and a dedicated teaching staff trained in Learning Support, we tailor our approach to each child's learning journey. Through multidisciplinary consultation and Individual Educational Plans (IEPs), we empower every child to reach their full potential within the CAPS curriculum framework, offering a pathway back to mainstream schooling, if and when they are ready.
If you are exploring alternative educational options for your child due to challenges in their current setting, I invite you to reach out. Let's schedule a meeting to discuss Oakley House Durbanville's offerings in detail and learn more about your child's specific needs. I look forward to the opportunity to connect.
