From 75 towels, to over 15,000 products sold...
Back in 2021, the first event we did was for Notts Sports, who held a golf day raising money for Help For Heroes charity.
This event was our first proper order of 75 golfers who had never heard of us, never seen our products or knew how big a moment this was as a potential start up.
Anyone that has started a company knows the feeling of releasing your product and letting it go into the hands of strangers. That's the real test. A sink or swim moment.
For me, attending the event in person I could see guests turn up, register and receive their Bando towels. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to look at their reactions or not, but I did and I'm so glad I did.
When we started Bando, we wanted to unite golfers on a golf day. A simple objective, but one that had been missing from our experience.
So to be able to walk down the fairways (occasionally in the rough as well) and see our towels on people's bags, or being used to clean their clubs from a distance, I knew we'd succeeded and we were onto something.
This picture below is one of my favourites, it's of all 75 golfers holding their Bando towels proudly, but more importantly for me, it was the pay off of hard work, and represents the excitement for the future of the business.
Little did I know at that moment, that these 75 towels would turn into over 15,000 products sold in the last 3 years.
We've come a long way, but the goals are only getting bigger.
