Friendships are Forever!

This past week, I had a chance to visit a city I have never visited as an adult this week, Kansas City. Not only was it a pleasure to see coworkers, I have only seen via MS Teams, but I had a chance to reach out to two friends I don't talk to enough.
One of them I worked with at a previous employer and we often call each other during the NCAA March Madness Basketball tournament. His team is one of the blue bloods, but he often calculates who will eliminate them and the time when he can begin relaxing until spring.
The other friend and I shared a memorable high school computer class many years ago, with several other friends. We bonded by always finding something to laugh about and I don't know how she felt, but I looked forward to that class every day, just to know that no matter what, I was surrounded by friends.
Although my visit didn't allow me enough time to drop by and visit them in person, it allowed me to do something I had not done in a long time. Not just think of them and remember our friendship, but call them and talk. It was long overdue.

Both were experiencing challenges in their lives but for those magical minutes, we had time to reflect, appreciate and just enjoy laughter, you know those deep laughs when you don't care who is around you.
At least for about 30 minutes, each call, we reconnected with each other, reminisced about our past, caught up with what we all were going through and most importantly, made the commitment to remain friends and keep in touch more.
Friendships will be and have always been unique. Some are great and others not so great, but they last forever and they shape who you are and what you can become.
I hope this will encourage you to reflect on how a friendship, past or present, has brought joy into your life.

2 个月AD-I loved this post!! You are one of the “real” ones that I have had the pleasure to work with in the past. The way you treat others with that big smile is what made my daily challenges enjoyable even though you do cheer for the wrong Team! Genuine friendships and working with those who truly care about people can be hard to find!! Thanks for always being “REAL” #WinAsOneTeam
