Laney Martin
Laney Martin, a senior business management major from Covington, Georgia, is the Red & Black's Fall 2024 chief photographer. Before transferring to UGA, Martin spent her freshman year at Lee University in Tennessee and then a semester at Georgia Gwinnett College. Part of Martin's responsibility as chief photographer includes taking the bulk of photographs appearing in the paper.

Mollie Simon
Research reporter Mollie Simon has acquired multiple years of experience working in archives. Simon transitioned from her Scripps Howard fellowship to her current role at ProPublica after graduating UGA in 2018 with degrees in public affairs journalism and political science. Simon hopes to continue working in archives and with food.

We are so grateful for the students who made this semester possible. In typical Red & Black fashion, we captured this semester's team in a photograph on the front steps of our office at 540 Baxter St. The staff celebrated with pizza from Killer Crust and paper plate awards, too. We are so excited to see what these students continue to accomplish. And to those students graduating — we will miss you!
Libby Hobbs reflects on her semester as editor in chief
As the fall 2024 semester comes to a close, The Red & Black has a lot to reminisce on. The fall 2024 editor in chief, Libby Hobbs, shared some final thoughts reflecting on the challenges we've overcome, the achievements we accomplished, and the maintenance of our mission. In this letter, she shares her personal experiences from this semester and the moments that defined her time in the newsroom.
