Friends of Ocean Action: Global leaders unite to save our ocean

Five years ago I founded Sustainable Ocean Alliance (SOA) with the vision of building the world’s largest network of young people focused on developing solutions to protect the health of the ocean.
Today, SOA has young leaders in over 50 countries, has launched the Silicon Valley-based Ocean Solutions Accelerator, and is the official co-host of the Our Ocean Youth Leadership Summit series — providing mentorship, resources, and exposure to youth-led ocean projects from around the world.
This #WorldOceansDay, I am honored to announce that I have joined the Friends of Ocean Action, a unique group of leaders that come together to fast-track solutions to the most pressing challenges facing the ocean. Created by Peter Thomson (UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for the Ocean), Marc Benioff (Founder and CEO of Salesforce), and Isabella L?vin (Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden), Friends of Ocean Action will unite to advance UN Sustainable Development Goal 14 to “conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.”
We invite you to join our mission in creating a more sustainable ocean economy while simultaneously protecting the well-being of the ocean.
Young leaders between the ages 18 and 35 can join our global network by submitting their ocean commitments and applying to attend the Our Ocean, Our Legacy Youth Leadership Summit taking place Bali on October 29 and 30th, 2018.
We encourage students and young professionals to submit their ocean commitments online at soalliance.org/our-ocean-2018 before July 6th, 2018 at 11:59pm PT.
Our ocean is our legacy, what is YOUR commitment this #WorldOceansDay?
