Friend or foe

Friend or foe

Hey there,

How was your test run? I mean, January? How are the resolutions you set? Or do we keep it moving? I'll leave these tables alone for today. To the gist of today:

Have you ever noticed how time plays an interesting role in our lives? It's like a friendly companion or sometimes a tricky opponent, depending on how we look at it. It might sound a bit fancy, but hear me out—it's not about privilege; it's about perspective.

Time has this incredible knack for giving us fresh starts, like hitting the reset button for a brand-new beginning. On the flip side, it can nudge us with reminders of the journey we've been on, showing off our victories or where we might've come up short. Again, perspective makes all the difference.?

By the way, have you ever laughed at how much scrolling we must do to find our birthdates on forms? Time's quirky sense of humour, right? '94 babies, are you getting ready for the 30s jokes yet ???

With the new month knocking on our doors soon, everyone's buzzing about goal-setting, righting the wrongs from January and setting the sails for our dreams. No doubt, these tricks are like our trusty sidekicks, keeping our eyes on the prize. But here's the thing—it's not just about setting those goals; it's about sticking with them and staying true to the course.

As we dive into a fresh month, there's this energy in the air, filled with talks about what's ahead, dreams taking shape, and hope soaring high. It's a time when possibilities stretch out endlessly, and we're all excited to see what's around the corner. But here's the kicker—in all that excitement lies a challenge: turning those dreams and aspirations into real, tangible victories.

If you're not sure how to go, steal my approach:

  • The trick is to strip down the goals to their barest form and ditch that long to-do list(you couldn't get anything done with it). pun intended
  • You can pick a limited amount of things you want to do/work on for a specified period. Nothing fancy. Make it simple: choose between 1-3, e.g. To stay fit, to grow my knowledge base and to take certifications.
  • When stripped down, choose the most straightforward route to achieving the goal(take a walk, not run o, walk, read ten pages a day on a select topic, register and attend classes). The target here is to grow the muscle so you'd become comfortable carrying out your task until it becomes habitual.
  • Set a daily reminder for this. Use your alarm clock to let it register.
  • Create a reward system for yourself when you sustain your streaks, be it a cheat meal or a jewellery you've always wanted to get.

Here are some resources to guide you: Set your goals using this guide, remember that you're not stuck, and make it worth your while

Your response is all that counts.

Cheers to embracing the quirks of time, setting our sights on the future, and making those dreams a living, breathing reality.
