The Friday Thing #860
The ride went well. My time over 75 miles was better than the last two times. Life is good :)
The Friday Thing #860 is a result of finding myself in a more introspective mindset of late as I plot some new phases ahead. At times like this, I have learned that I need to slow down, digest the signals around me (there are always signals out there) and reassure myself that competing, complex and incomplete thoughts always find a way to synthesize and reach harmony.
I have also learned during these times to read more (than usual), talk to friends, share ideas and be open to the new. It's against this backdrop that I spent 90 minutes this morning with an old friend from Microsoft, presenting to his team of 200 about the future of communications with AI. It was invigorating, and I enjoyed what I learned from the team and from the catch up with an old friend. He gave me some new thoughts to mix in to things. Thanks, Ryan.
Earlier in the week, I was catching up on reading from my pal Matt McCue. I've watched as he has grown The Creative Factor from the ground up into something quite special. HIs weekly note caught my eye with his birthday reflections. I love this list he shared:

There is so much goodness in here and I especially like the "never regret" line. Wisdom in a sentence. Thanks, Matt - you gave me some new ideas too with this list and I am putting together my own list for a future edition. Meanwhile, feel free to add your own in the comments.
That's all for this week. I hope you enjoy it and have a great weekend. I'll be out on my bike, looking for signals!
Music for this week is not one song but an entire album as Snow Patrol's "The Forest Is The Path" released today. Quite an apt title for this post.
cheers and happy Friday.

5 个月As always insighful! I really value my lunch hour. It is my time to recharge. It’s not that I’m not flexible, just trying to protecting myself. By the way, I’m loving the playlist!
