The Friday Thing #817

Lots of likes for last week’s edition, thank you.

The Friday Thing #817 was almost Copilot created this week. I have been spending a lot of time playing with Microsoft’s latest AI tools and used them to help me breakthrough on a project where I had writers block this week. More on that soon as it’s worthy of a longer post, I think. Plus, I am meeting with a group of writers and directors in LA next week to talk about AI so am fascinated to get their input before I put pen to paper – so to speak.

?

Thus, this week’s edition is sort of writer’s block related – but slightly different. I came across Brianna Wiest’s Instagram this week and I thought this post was worth sharing. It’s introspective stuff but I found myself coming back to it a few times and bookmarking for future use. Like last week I’ll not share all 7 here as you should check out Brianna’s Instagram, but I will share the first one as I loved the simplicity of it as a way to get to yes. I needed it a few times this week.

A black background with white text that says "7 questions to ask yourself when you don't know what you want"
What's one small, inconsequential thing I already know is a "yes". The way you take your coffee in the morning. One small, tiny part of your daily routine. Your favorite shirt. A person you know you love. When you're trying to reconnect to your internal navigation system, it's hard to start with the overarching, large-scale questions because it's often complex and comes imbued and heavy with expectation and unconscious belief systems. So start small - start where it doesn't matter. Just remember what "yes" feels like in the first place.

That’s all for this week. Welcome to Friday and have a great weekend.

Music for this week is Missing - Ultramarine Remix, by Everything But The Girl. ?

Interesting questions which if we answered them all honestly we’d likely make some changes - another question though is ‘can you make these changes’. It’s one thing wanting this but if you need the money (for example) you may have less options. But great questions to get to the truth for sure??
