Friday Stuff - 5 random things

Friday Stuff - 5 random things

It's almost Friday! I wanted to share 5 random things for you to try this weekend, I usually pick these ideas from talking to friends and listening to people talk about new stuff they tested

  1. A place to visit - Maastricht

I got the idea from a friend who recently moved from Paris! She just started a new job there and I was thinking of visiting.

Discover the enchanting charm of Maastricht, where history and modernity seamlessly coexist in a picturesque setting. Nestled in the heart of Europe, this captivating city beckons with its cobbled streets, ancient architecture, and vibrant cultural scene. Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Maastricht's past, explore its hidden gems, indulge in exquisite cuisine, and experience a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes every visit a memorable adventure. From its stunning medieval old town to its bustling markets and serene riverside views, Maastricht invites you to embark on a journey that combines tradition with contemporary allure.

2. A new book to read - Pedigree

This thought-provoking book challenges our notions of meritocracy and equal opportunity, shedding light on the deep-rooted class biases that influence who ascends the economic ladder. A must-read for anyone interested in understanding the dynamics of social class and employment in America.

This book takes us on a revealing journey into the world of top-tier firms. Author Lauren Rivera's extensive research and firsthand insights pull back the curtain on the hiring practices that shape the nation's highest-paying entry-level jobs. Through interviews and observations, Rivera uncovers the unsettling truth: economic privilege often outweighs merit in the selection process.

3. An Interesting App I just tried - Habit

It′s called Habit! And it′s a great way to start 2024. The Habit app is an exceptional tool for those looking to create and maintain long-term habits. What sets this app apart is its detailed graphics and statistics that provide a clear view of your habit-building progress.

Some of its features include the ability to customize the appearance of your habits with the choice of widget colors, the ability to create an unlimited number of cards to track your habits, an authentic and appealing design, as well as in-depth analysis and statistics on your habit formation. You can also set a convenient schedule, receive notifications, and add motivational phrases to your habit cards.

Don′t buy the premium subscription straight away, let an offer pop up with a huge discount and you will be able to purchase the yearly subscription for a smaller price, there is also the option to use it for free.

4. A product I find really useful - Luggage Scale

I find myself to be a very organized traveler, meaning, as unorganized I can be for other things I like to plan my visit to the airport in a way I know it′s going to be a pleasant experience, up to know it′s been around 5 years without a single issue when traveling, 0 flights missed, no bags lost, 0 overcharge fees on bags.

But there is an aspect where I usually do not do so well, which is filling my luggage, to avoid issues I usually take with me fewer clothes or accessories not to risk it. I found this Luggage Scale to be interesting, will try it!

5. An activity I feel like doing this weekend - Bowling

A friend told me the same a few weeks ago, we were having lunch with other friends and he suggested we should go bowling, it has been a long time since we haven′t gone and its fun!

Bowling is a fantastic way to have a great time with friends and family! There's something about the sound of the pins crashing down, the competitive spirit, and the joy of seeing that perfect strike that just makes it so much fun. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a casual bowler, the camaraderie and laughter that come with each roll of the ball are truly special. Plus, the neon lights and the smell of the bowling alley always add to the unique atmosphere. So, grab your bowling shoes and enjoy some good old-fashioned fun on the lanes!
