This week has seen several project updates, approvals, and the launch of the world’s largest single-capacity floating wind turbine platform. However, the incident at the Vineyard Wind 1 offshore wind project in the US has garnered significant attention.


Turbine Suffers Damage at Vineyard Wind Offshore Wind Farm

A turbine blade at the Vineyard Wind 1 offshore wind farm in the US has been damaged, leading to an investigation by the blade’s manufacturer, GE Vernova.

On 18 July, Vineyard Wind announced that a “significant part” of the remaining GE Vernova blade came loose from the turbine.


New York Opens Fifth Offshore Wind Solicitation

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has launched the state’s fifth offshore wind solicitation, with proposals due by 9 September.


Australia Approves Twelve Offshore Wind Projects, Set to Generate 25 GW Capacity

A total of twelve offshore wind projects have now been granted feasibility licenses for the Gippsland Offshore Wind Zone, enabling a potential generation capacity of 25 GW, according to Chris Bowen, Australia’s Minister for Climate Change and Energy.


CIP’s 1.5 GW Korean Floating Wind Project First in Ulsan to Complete EIA Consultation

The 1.5 GW Haewoori floating wind project in South Korea, owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and developed by Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP), has completed the environmental impact assessment (EIA) consultation with the Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, marking the first for an offshore wind project in Ulsan, according to COP.


Mingyang Launches Twin-Rotor V-Shaped Floating Wind Turbine Platform

China’s Mingyang Smart Energy has launched what it claims to be the world’s largest single-capacity floating wind turbine platform, OceanX, featuring two MySE8.3-180 hybrid drive wind turbines, each boasting a capacity of 8.3 MW.

Saludos?ofrezco licencias o venta de la patente por país, es la WO2024/123169 link: https://patentscope.wipo.int/search/es/detail.jsf?docId=WO2024123169&_cid=P11-LXWM4H-16420-1 para que puedan fabricar y vender la turbina eólica plegable la cual es muy eficiente pues no se le escapa el viento por entre sus palas, es muy duradera y económica puede ser construida de acero y también sus palas, que al estar la turbina con su centro de gravedad en equilibrio que termina en punta en la parte de abajo, es fácil de mover, los rodamientos duran mucho pues no sostienen a la turbina solo la guían, y con un adecuado mantenimiento de pintura cada ciertos a?os puede durar un siglo o más. La turbina es de eje vertical plegable y multi configurable toma la fuerza del viento con la forma cóncava cerrada y cuando viene contra el viento con forma convexa abierta, no desperdicia la fuerza como la turbina Savonius.
