Communication has been such a huge talking point lately.

It has helped Darren and I over many years to come at our relationship from different angles depending on what is happening.

So today?I ask you this…What about asking more, better, questions to improve your relationships?

Now what I mean by this is…What is feeling hard for you, personally, right now?Journal out how you feel and what you are feeling.

Then ask yourself this question…What else is hard about it?

Based on those reflections, what’s one small thing you can try this week to make progress?

Write it down, tell your partner about it and then make a pact with each other to stick to it, even if its just for one day.

Darren and I sometimes miss this, but it certainly is a game changer as it really helps to break down the communication barriers you both are feeling right now.

Trust in a $exual relationship shouldn’t be taken lightly.

If you have suffered trauma in the past I get you. When in an intimate relationship, trust is one huge hurdle that you have to go though, especially when one of you has been hurt. Here are three things to implement Trust during your $exual time together.

  1. Ask your partner what fantasy they have about you and if both are happy, try and rein act it out. Trust here is a huge thing, especially if you have been hurt in the past as its letting your guard down. Have a code word if you want to stop or feel uncomfortable at any point and have the courage to speak out and tell your partner why.
  2. Set a timer and use foreplay as an interaction and tell your partner where you would like to be touched. Switch it around after a certain amount of time.
  3. Talk and communicate how you feel about any trauma that has happened in your past and be open, raw and honest with each other. This may be a trigger point for you. Go slow, embrace all of the raw emotions.

If you want to see your intimacy change within your relationship, the change starts from within first.

Ask yourself these questions and really journal out how you feel.

  1. How does my upbringing impact how I feel about my body.
  2. What situations trigger me in my intimate relationship?
  3. What are my core beliefs within intimacy?

Then ask yourself how can you change the way you think about these answers? What can you change, how can you change? You can ask for your wants and needs to be met. You can set and hold more boundaries.

You can refuse to be in a negative person’s energy and not let them get you down.

There are sometimes where a few questions can be brought up and its ok to ask.

So today I ask, ask your partner these 5 questions and see what comes back. Remember listen, take on board all that is said, don’t interrupt and don’t shout.

  1. What is working well for you? What is something that needs to be improved on in our relationship.
  2. What is taking up the most headspace right now?
  3. Are we happy with the distribution of the responsibilities/tasks?
  4. When have you felt most loved lately?
  5. Is there something that you are struggling with right now and how can I support you with that?

Often, these things come up a lot and it’s good to ask and get a feel for how things are going within your relationship.

Darren and I do this once a week during our non-negotiable Friday morning coffee outing.

It’s a great way to find what is working and what’s not working within your relationship.
