This week's Friday Framework dives into Copy Tree, a methodology inspired by the Business Model Canvas but designed for quicker analysis made by me.

Framework Name: Copy Tree

Job-to-be-Done:

Entrepreneurs and professionals often seek inspiration for their own business models by studying successful existing businesses. The Copy Tree helps deconstruct a competitor's model to understand its core components and how they work together.

Take-It-Apart:

Imagine your competitor's business model as a tree:

• Imagine your competitor's business model as a tree:

• Root (Value Proposition):? The "why" of the business. What core problem does it solve for its customers? Example: Uber - Provides convenient and affordable on-demand transportation.
• Trunk (Customer Segment): ?The "who" of the business. Who are the ideal customers for the value proposition? Example: Netflix - Targets individuals and families seeking a convenient way to watch movies and TV shows.
• Branches (Revenue Channels):? The "how" of generating revenue. Through what channels does the business reach and sell its value proposition? Example: Spotify - Offers music streaming subscriptions through its app and website.
• Leaves (Customer Relationships):? The "what" of customer interaction. How does the business interact with and engage its customers? Example: Airbnb - Provides a user-friendly platform for hosts and guests to connect and manage bookings.
• Crown (Profit Formula):? The "how much" of profit generation. How does the business convert revenue into profit, considering costs??

Total Profit = Total Revenue - Total Costs

• Example: Amazon - Sells a wide range of products (revenue) but also incurs costs for inventory, logistics, and marketing. Their profit formula considers these factors.

By analyzing each "part" of the Copy Tree, you can gain valuable insights into how your competitor's model functions. This knowledge can be a springboard for developing your own innovative business model by adapting and improving upon existing strategies.
