Friday Flowers

Friday Flowers

Happy Friday, everyone! As we bid farewell to this final Friday of January, let's embrace a practice that enriches not only our lives but those around us as well. It's about going that extra mile for those who touch our lives daily. Typically, we rush to buy flowers or express our feelings when someone is no longer with us. However, the true magic lies in recognizing and appreciating people while they are still a part of our everyday journey.

Today, why not give someone - or everyone - the "flowers" they deserve while they are here to enjoy them? This could be as simple as a phone call, a heartfelt text, or even a handwritten card. Share with them how much they mean to you, recalling a specific moment in your life or acknowledging their current impact.

For all the HR professionals out there, remember, this isn't about romantic gestures. For others, it doesn't necessarily mean giving actual flowers. The core idea is to express gratitude and appreciation before it's too late.

Imagine the impact of acknowledging the cheery receptionist whose morning greetings brighten your day, or the neighbor who always inquires about your family. Consider the coworker who always has your back, or the boss who continually mentors you. These are the people who, intentionally or unintentionally, have uplifted you at times when you needed it most.

Furthermore, as the sun sets today, take a moment to appreciate the gift that is you. Stand in front of the mirror and acknowledge your own magnificence. Giving yourself the recognition you deserve is a form of self-care. It's a powerful reminder that you are resilient, loving, intelligent, and a blessing to the world, even on your worst days.

By spreading this positivity and gratitude, you set in motion a cycle of goodwill. It's a beautiful way to end the week on a high note, ensuring that those who make your days brighter know how much you value them.

So, let's make this "Friday Flowers" a day of joyous appreciation, fostering an attitude of gratitude that brightens not only our lives but those around us as well. Here's to a weekend filled with the warmth of knowing we've made a difference.

I like the ideas of the Friday Flowers tradition. I have been holding a personal practice of wearing red to recognize the Remember Everyone Deployed (RED) movement. It's my gesture of acknowledgment for my military brothers and sisters who continue to ensure the safety of our families and nation.
