I had an opportunity earlier this week to meet some great people at a networking event put on by Silicon Slopes - and this quote nicely sums up my go-to process for an introduction. It's not fake, I'm not bait-and-switching you with a smile or a false compliment before my sales pitch. I am coming at you with my authentic self, who is very interested in learning a bit about your story and absolutely hoping to leave a positive imprint on your day.?

When I do that - it fills my cup, it's one of my favorite things about my job. I'm not the most polished at it (ever), and that's OK! I've got the rest of my life to practice. Which brings me to my final thought. "The Awkward Authentic will win more true friends than the Confident Counterfeit." - Mike Turnbow
